We're not supposed to criticise other forums here, but apparently people can't count over there even if videos with crossovers counted are linked for them.

But also a lot of the anonymous question-answer type blogs and social media stuff have more 'yeah well he's not all that great, he's not the best at everything' submissions than usual in the last week or so. Mostly, looks like people are pointing and laughing at the salty nincompoops saying all that.

It's proof Yuzu antis are getting more nervous as the season is about to start! They would be quiet if they didn't fear his presence :space:

They won't shut up. I think some of them hope that if they say it often enough, it'll become true. Or people will think it's true. But as long as Yuzu is skating and the videos of him skating are out there, they will only look stupider and stupider. It is nice of them to expose themselves as biased numpties so blatantly.

Just hearing those parts of H&L is enough to choke me up good.

Also, I am absolutely LOVING all the salty, salty people who, I'm sure, have been particularly pickled by the fact that these are now the absolute records of an era. There's been a little burst of blatant liars popping up here and there to pull out assfax (facts faxed straight from the ass) about Yuzu. They know they're lying, we know they're lying, everybody knows they're lying, and the fact that they're bitter enough to put their utterly biased idiocy out there means that they're truly suffering. I love that they're suffering enough that they can't help but burst out in gibberish that makes them look like utter dumbasses.

He will make legend by breaking New WRs under the new system and shut all of them up lol

    Dear Diary,

Today is the 20th of August, the year 2018, also the 42nd day since our Do-S memeface overlord entered his cave in Toronto.

Due to the overflow of content earlier in the off-season, prisoners in captivity (aka fans) were getting used to more information, so the sudden silence from the batcave is decidedly hard to get used to. Really though, older ones should be used to this by now-they've been through what, 4-6 off-seasons of cricket chirps. But sadly, this off-season they're like newbies-moaning and begging for news all the time. And with the chorus of newbies, it seems everyone is slightly going nuts. Note, I really shouldn't say anything since I'm one of the older fans, but even my brain is slightly going anxious and cuckoo.

To be fair, the overlord hasn't gone completely silent (and it's not that unusual). There have been some cryptid sightings earlier on in the quiet days, and god bless little children, even photos where he was spotted smiling into a camera. But alas, after 2 weeks, everything's gone blank. Currently some of us residents in captivity have started more fruitful discussions, like social media presence and hypothesis of his fan count should the overlord decide to get instagram/twitter/facebook etc. But no, those are just tiny, unappetizing junk-food level morsels to chew on before we get the real feast.  But that feast is taking some time- all the while we need to endure thirst while the followers of other overlords (aka skaters) get to celebrate on new program reveals, normal instagram photos, new haircuts. Envious, who us? Of course not, we're used to feeling a smidgen of envy while we survive on old videos and memories (like cacti in the desert living off of stored water resources). Especially since we all agree that for the sake of his privacy, it's best that our overlord remain off of social media.

Desparate, who us? Naturally of course not. And scoff at those other fans, who like happy golden retreivers, jump joyfully at the sightings of haircuts. So easy to satisfy. We'll just content ourselves with 24H TV, even the pre-recorded stuff, while jabbing lazily into munchy snackfoods, clawing at walls, and reminding ourselves that there will be a sumptious feast at the end of this ordeal, because our overlord is a benevolent one in the end. Yes, we're definitely not nutty.

    Signed,

    I swear I'm actually a do-S,

    Xen

Can you write this diary again next month if he announces nothing? lol. It's hilarious

He could probably post and block comments every time (I think Instagram has that option?), but he could still get tagged to stuff and I'm not sure he could block messages, so... yeah. Better not. On the other hand, if he weren't so 'mysterious' and private, it could be that some fans would stop being so desperate... but I don't think it's worth it to try it.

That said, depending on his plans post-retirement (I know what I dream of for him lol), he might then open a website, at least, to further promote those plans.

Javi has a website, but it's not really up to date (I just checked it yesterday and it even has errors).

I think fans will go more crazy when he goes into hermit like this off season and literally spam his Social Media if he makes one. I heard Yuzu even replied a month or two late to Kikuchi San's Line messages, so maybe Yuzu loves his hermit cave too much to make social media lol. He would do well surviving in the wild in my opinion lol

*imagines Yuzu popping up on instagram one day and his first post is: "Hi! I have instagram now! Btw, here's a quad axel! Enjoy!" *

Truth is, in a way I love how popular and successful Yuzu without having SNS, a website, an agency or even actual managers that we know of... It also means he probably has full control of his image and activities, more than he'd have if he had any of those things (he wouldn't have time to keep track of SNS or micromanage a website and an agency or managers would just tell him not to worry his pretty head about things unrelated to skating and make decisions for him). OK, he probably hands a lot of control to his mother, but still. She's his mother, not some stranger.

Oh yes. Now I think back, Yuzu is probably more efficient at reading English than speaking it (he said he takes English Uni courses via E-Waseda courses). He will probably understand 90% of the english comments and I would hate it if he saw the comments from the trolls (he's a lurker so he will lurk on his own instagram comments if he ever makes one), so maybe it's best he never makes one haha.

I do kinda wish he'd have an official site like Shoma does? Where he/his team could post a message every few months, maybe a couple of photos now and again when he feels like. No comments to deal with, everything under his control, free to abandon and pick up whenever he feels...

I once dreamed of this! Like some celebs don't have social media but they do post random stuff on websites and stuff.

Maybe ANA can set one up for him someday? Or maybe he will make instagram after landing a Quad Axel hehehe...

  8. So I am at work, and everyday I come in here anticipating Media Day Announcements, but I always get disappointed. I will wait in silence until mid September, and if there are no news by then, I will truly accept there is no media day this year. I wonder if he is really working on Quad Axel because he might not want to reveal him practicing it to his rivals or something...

  9. I had no idea Hanyu was bullied. Maybe because he missed alot of classes in school so got isolated from them? And pure jealousy. I'm so glad Yuzu has skating friends who understand him. No wonder Yuzu became a house hermit... so many weird people who try to make his life miserable... Even I would be isolated if I was him.

I don't think this is "so late" compare to his usual standard. The media day didn't happen in this particular week like the past few years, but till now, it just a few days late. People seems to forget he's coming back from injury, so far he and his team taking thing slowly and carefully. And with new programs and rule changes, he might need a bit more time before skating in front of media.

I know, it's just that we are all getting quite impatient because all other skaters have announced their new program music! I just wanted to see an article with the names of the music no more or less.

Nathan and Shoma are relative newcomers - in the beginning it was Patrick Chan, and to a lesser extent because of his injury, Takahashi, plus the likes of Kovtun and Machida, that were the external rivals.  I’m sure that over the years Yuzuru has assessed all of them quite accurately- he knew at Sochi that new skaters would emerge by PC, and laid his plans for new jumps etc accordingly.  It’s the greatest pity that he was derailed by injury but who knows? If he had totally dominated throughout those years he might be moving on to new challenges now instead of continuing.

It’s a great sporting friendship, far preferable to the unpleasant Pluschenko/Yagudin feud,  and it seems to have encouraged a friendly rivalry ethos in those younger than them which is nice to see.

I agree! He continues to win because he never looks down on his competitors, respects them and never gets arrogant

I doubt anyone could replace him or that Yuzu would want anyone to: even leaving aside their friendship and obvious affection (hasn't Yuzu said he couldn't have done everything he did without Javi?) it was a near miracle of two strong, competitive personalities meshing as well as they did; obviously there were stresses, especially in the lead up to the Olympics, but as many have noted it's pretty unique, unheard of for the two top athletes in the world with all the fierceness, competition and the battling for places to be able to work together as they did (and says a lot about both of them).

Obviously we don't know, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's more one-on-one and a mix of member of TCC for him from now on.

I think had Javi been Yuzu's main rival without Nathan and Shoma, the tension would have been worse. But Yuzu had other rivals to worry about so I'm guessing their tension wasn't as great as between say Zagitova and Zhenya.

Will NBC do any non-event coverage of Yuzu?  They will if they are putting together a profile of those who are the greatest challengers to Nathan who is now THE American figure skater.  Yuzu is definitely Nathan's greatest rival although that's probably just Nathan's view of things.  Yuzu's greatest rival is actually Yuzuru Hanyu.  That's been the case for a long time.  He knows if he can beat himself he automatically beats everyone else.  As Johnny Weir once said several seasons ago and I don't think things have changed since then - Nobody can beat a perfect Yuzuru Hanyu.  Enough said.

I totally agree with you. What I meant is that the Media loves to create rivalry for the ratings mostly.

  14. I just saw a random tweet that said that Yuzu signed a Phiten sleeping capsule. I'm glad Yuzu is so loyal to phiten haha. Bought the same Phiten necklace as Yuzu and have been wearing it for more than 6 months now, and I must say I think I haven't felt any effects of what it claims it will do. The blue marble necklace probably puts Yuzu to ease, but for me, I don't physically feel it's healing effects on my body strongly enough to notice it.

That'd be awesome. Sometimes during the Olympics, CBC will do short documentary fluff pieces about big-name foreign athletes to go along with their coverage of the Canadian teams and of the sports, but in recent years their budget has been kind of lean so it seems like they've stopped doing that.

But to tell you to the truth, I'm surprised they haven't done a full-on Brian Orser/TCC doc for the Passionate Eye (and covered Yuzu in that). It's such a Canadian story in every regard. It's exactly the kind of thing that fits their mandate.

As for NBC, expecting an American station to cover non-American athletes at any point in time is a stretch. It's just not what their audiences are after as far as I can tell.

Hmm.. I do think NBC will cover Yuzu at some point or another if he continues to get amazing results whilst competing because isn't Figure Skating on the rise in USA as well due to Nathan Chen doing so well in the Men's? They seem to take more interest in him nowadays (with the ESPN coverage too). Anyway I do hope for more foreign documentaries on Yuzu from the Western Media. He is the angel of figure skating and it would be a missed opportunity for any networks to pass a documentary opportunity whilst he competes!

It would be awesome to have one by an English language channel, but I guess it's unlikely? God bless all the fans who toil to put English subtitles on the Japanese vids.

Maybe if he wins Worlds again, CBC or NBC might do a documentary of him?
