Hello!! Thanks a lot for your effort in translating and welcome~ This.. thanks for adding it. Even before this additional nuance I actually could somehow sense or try to see the situation in there.. at the whacky situation he's in (I mean.. really, I couldn't believe they just let him ran around searching for Yuzu without telling him where or what has happened.. at least give him more than just oh he's somewhere else no big deal.. well OFC it WAS for him) I think Brian perfectly understood what he needed to do and tried his best to give some sense of normalcy to Yuzu. I figured Yuzu must've also realized that Brian would know something's off and he'd also appreciate Brian's effort of not fussing over it instead just move them along as best as he could. The series of unfortunate incidents might seem too many up to now but against all odds Yuzu is still fired up and getting stronger.. let's hope things will only get brighter and stars would align better and shine light on him. I know, he already IS the light, but I think it wouldn't hurt to get some support.. (might not make much sense but let's just pretend)

Hello guys.. I'm keeping up with off season steadily. Hope you all are doing fine! Enjoyed the compilation by @Henni147 I just.. this is kinda embarrassing and random but I recently found out that Blinding Light is quite recent.. (shows how much I keep up with global music scene) Also reading that extra news from WC and I was ??? at how it seemed like Brian wasn't notified on Yuzu's whereabout before he had to ask? Like they just let him seek Yuzu/let him eventually asked them where he was or why he wasn't there warming up.. I mean idk how things go at competition but it sounded strange to me. Other than that ofc Brian figured out something was off. Anyway I was already iffy of the whole event since the beginning so... /shrug

Oh wow that must've been A sparkling dinner.. I hope next time we're allowed to travel and the world goes back closer to the old normal we can meet up (or more like, I can have the chance to).. I do really miss traveling. I see.. I was checking out this skincare/beauty marketplace a while ago and saw the brand's getting positive review. But yea good for your wallet for sure About the earthquake, I hope everyone's fine.. I saw that there's no tsunami warning so that's one thing. I hope Yuzu is fine too he's been stressed with it since before Worlds and it happened again. Where I live there was a 6. something earthquake 3 weeks ago and it happened while I was on this Zoom meeting with colleagues at work and it was pretty chaotic. Also if I were to comment on the no-mask group pic/selfie from ice show, I don't think we need to overanalyze it.. it's bound to happen due to the nature of the activity. I'd like to think of it like I'm gathering with my work colleagues (whom I can't be sure about their activity/interaction outside, if they have any), and we take group pic while having dinner at one's place, mask-less. Probably can't be an ideal comparison but it's one I could think of. While I don't think having the ice show with barely any bubble/ideal condition is right, I can't really punish the skaters for taking a group pic that way.. I'm sure many would prefer to see them with mask, but it's how it is. Just hope everyone participating, including the audience will stay healthy and take utmost precaution with everything else.

Seems like there are plenty of you in academia as well.. and in PhD some more! I think I can probably learn a thing or two from you guys.. Anyway are we officially entering off season now?? In a way I'm relief that it's over.. I hope Yuzu will take his time recuperating before he drills his body into practicing 4A again and hope he will stay healthy! Kinda OOT but has anyone actually tried Sekkisei product? It's cool that they made the poster with the theme of Yuzu's outfit~

Oh wow Happy 4th birthday everyone!!! Hopefully the new year will bring about new, better change for all of us!! On the Thesis/article topic, it sure has generated massive interests.. while not all are in positive sentiment, I still have hope that eventually, what he's dreaming, aiming to achieve for the sport will come to fruition in one way or another. IF there is only ONE person that's able to do it right, then may he be guided to reach it. Quoting a famous quote from a movie, which seems pretty appt for Yuzu: Even if the whole world is telling you to move, it is your duty to plant yourself like a tree, look them in the eye, and say 'No, you move'.

So I saw the link and when I tried to download it crashed like many! /not like I can understand Japanese but so I can contribute to that download numbers I'm surprised at how quick they put out the download link for the published journal article of his thesis.. and for free some more. If anyone wondering, it is a scientific paper published in a journal (by the univ), so obviously it was formatted/edited as an article and not as a full research report like his thesis. Depending on the journal requirement, usually a paper can range between 6 to 12 pages, comprising of the introduction, lit review (or theoretical background), method, and discussion/result/analysis, including abstract, conclusion and references. Basically similar format to the full thesis but much comprised, or taken only a few important substance, whichever the author wanted to include (or whichever suits the journal theme) in the publication. (I gotta say picking apart the full thesis/report and structure it for a journal can be a pain in the butt but definitely a much easier read for others interested in the topic so good for them to make it available for free!!) Also since it's an academic or scientific paper, it IS supposed to be neutral.. his research tried analyzing a chosen trend or phenomenon or solving a problem with an acceptable scientific method. So if any media even reported and citing names (which are not even there in his work), they KNEW the problem.. or WHO are the problem. Obviously they're completely aware of that. That's like admitting it themselves, I wonder if they realized because it's hilarious.

Tbh when I first saw the lights from the audience it reminds me of kpop concerts with fans holding/swinging the lightstick haha! Also the technology now allows it to be controlled/programmed so it could change color or blink accordingly (sorry bad description) but ofc that can't always work for skating unless it's exhibition when the lights are mostly out. Seconding your sentiment on the concert, I would definitely do so too.. /might have to save some good amount of money though p.s. also hello @ nct doyoung~ i know him Oh and on the topic of his thesis.. usually it will be published in the univ repository or whatever equivalent of it before it's published in a scientific journal. When it's published in a journal, our chance of publicly accessing it may be higher. But it could be different in Jpn I'm not at all familiar with it. By the years he took to carefully did the research and wrote the thesis I feel like he could be eligible for a masters but I think it's amazing and admirable how he's managed to achieve that!! The thing about thesis or academic paper is, as much significance or highly important it is, not many are actually used to bring about change.. so the fact that he crafted his work with a purpose to make the sport better (to say it simply) makes me wish more that one day, it could be implemented or at least be considered as a solution..

why is this so funny.. Also on the topic of his 4A wildin it's true that by showing it in practice w/ news cams he knew there would be some footage in different angles and he so would use that to analyze his forms, timings, and what not, then take note and do whatever scientific thing to later implement in his practice.. not saying he hasn't recorded any of his private practice but I'd assume it's somewhat different. And yes I think he also would like to make that statement to the world. We shall be patient and hope he'll stay safe and healthy!

Yes I think his references of music is pretty wide so it's definitely possible that he also enjoys lots of pop music. I'd love to see his playlist he probably has multiple of it set for specific occasion or mood just like us mere human..

Thanks!! edit: oops omg I'm sorry I was meant to add this reply to my already posted comment but for some reason it posted as a new comment.. my apologies. And I have nothing to contribute fjklasj hmm.... ahh... well anyway I hope Yuzu's having a good quarantine time and eating lots of good food (like pudding, strawberry, gyoza) and his training is going well!

Aah ok thank you!! It looks elegant actually.. but I think it's not really for people with smaller wrist. I was trying to recall if I had read about it somewhere before but my memory is getting weaker so I can't really trust anymore lol. I'd just consider I haven't read about it before.. but imagine him jamming to their songs using his expensive hi-tech earphone??

Wow thread got long only for it to be dominated on such discussion.. which actually didn't really need to be nit-picked so much.. I guess it's ok if anyone has certain opinion but I don't think it's ok to keep beating around the bush over it. One should be able to 'read' the room and know when to stop. That's just my opinion. I personally think, like Yuzu himself has said, there are pro and cons of him training by himself.. what we need to do isn't to decide for him because well, who are we really?? We can have opinion on whats 'best', but Yuzu is the one living his life and he'd know best what would work best for him according to his situation. I believe he can make his own wise decision. That's all I'm gonna say about it. Anyway the random facts thread is precious!!! Some I'm aware of, a few I was not.. btw anyone remember where did Yuzu share his story about mistaking tomato for that paprika?? I remember that story but didn't recall where he mentioned it.. I myself is the opposite, I'd be glad to have paprika than tomato haha. Also the new watch does look huge for women actually.. I mean compared to the last one.

Aahhh weekday's only proceeding for 2 days but thread already growing quite a lot haha.. I'm struggling to check news/comments here but I wanna at least visit once in a while.. Anyway I've listened to the podcast cut and wow his English!! Who knows maybe if he's been practicing during quarantine as well along with his cough4Acough.. ofc there will be freedom of managing stuff on his own, though at first and at times it can be challenging, especially with little to no direct supervision and care. However he's done well this past year. When situation is much better, and it's possible and safe for him to travel, and should he need to, then he can continue his training in Canada. Whichever best for them.. And the be someone's light board doesn't he look cute?! but also I wanna say he has been so many people's light since.. he will not need to worry about that and I wish we can also shine hope and positivity and channel it to him too whenever he needs it. I saw the Osaka case rising and then the no quarantine for foreign skaters is getting worrying but oh well...

crying because the moving topic for the last few pages is actually about if yuzu has marvelous a** shake jflkfjaskl I personally never really pay that much attention to it and feel indifferent about it.. but maybe I'm among the minorities here In the other topic, good for his another award from his uni!! And in the topic of SOI, that's how scary media play could be (or wtv you call it) and some might just fall victims to it.. I hope it can be resolved well but the most important thing is that I just want Yuzu to come out of it unscathed.. physically and mentally. We all need to be careful and filter wisely to what's going on in social media these days..

Hello Lynn.. hope you're doing fine~ I completely get about how forum can make you nervous and that's ok.. you made a post so that's something, right?? If you're aware that twitter has been making you feel drained, then it might be a good decision to stay away from it for a while. Do and enjoy something else! What do you like? classical music? Go listen/watch the clip.. k-drama? binge watch it maybe.. or watch some random yuzu clip on YouTube, that sounds cool too~ anything will do to freshen your mind up a bit. Only you know what would work. Fandom is supposed to be enjoyable and while there are times we're tense or stressed from the object of that fandom, if it gets too in your head it's not good. I think there's still a positive side to it that we can focus our mind into.. everything will be fine eventually. Meanwhile, let's enjoy this healing content.. hope this can help. https://twitter.com/__pino_____/status/1377062599636918272?s=20 p.s. oh man I forgot how to embed..
