An old article of Yomiuri Newspaper (dated ?/Just before

Sochi Olympics) shown on a twitter.--------------------------

Firstly, it's written Kanagawa Newspaper but corrected later

to Yomiuri as seen on the chat there. As it's an old one, maybe

sb has already translated it.  Anyway, bc I haven't seen it yet,

so.....please, as always said, feel free to ignore it.

Also bc it has sth to do with the latest post of mine regarding

his decision to participate in an event in Kanagawa.

Lastly, in that post from "News Town", it was reported that

Yuzu was in Yokohama about 8 months BUT in this article, it

was like 6 months. Just for your better understanding. Thanks.]

" Hanyu Senshu encouraged by his fellow skaters "

"A "Large" Flower at Sochi "

" *Kanagawa Skate(Skating) Rink "

early childhood & boyhood days, said Mr. Shoichiro

Tsuzuki  at "Kanagawa Skate Rink (KSR)"

----------------------------------------------------------------

At the Sochi Olympic Winter Game which will be held from

this February 7(2014), Yuzuru Hanyu Senshu(19)(ANA) who is

expected to be the one to win a gold medal was especially

cheered from his fellow skaters in Yokohama.

There are coaches as well as training mates of KSR

(Kanagawa Ward, Yokohama City) where Sendai-born

Hanyu Senshu who was temporarily there as his training

rink after the East Japan Earthquake. They wished him

to be able to "SHINE" at Sochi as much as how he had

been suffering...

Not long after the earthquake, Mr.Shoichiro Tsuzuki(76)

got a phone call from Hanyu Senshu's family asking him,

" Is it possible to allow him(Yuzu) to train there ? ". That

was when he was an exclusive instructor of the KSR.

Mr.S.Tsuzuki was a veteran coach who also instructed a

WFC's bronze medalist, Mr.Minoru Sano(58). When he

worked as a coach in Sendai City, he first met Hanyu

Senshu who was at Grade 2 of Nanakita Elementary School.

Hanyu Senshu who experienced that huge earthquake was

temporarily spent his life together with his family at a

gymnasium of a school there. The damages of his home rink's

facilities were too bad to be able to use any more.

Mr.S.Tsuzuki along with Mr.Yamasaki(78), the Rink's president

were as quickly as they could so as to prepare things for Hanyu

Senshu to be able to continue his skating life there. At least,

he could concentrate on his practice, whenever other users

who came there wanted his autograph and to take a picture

with him, we begged them to quit. BUT, what Hanyu Senshu

said about this was, "What I can do now (for everybody)

is only this.", so he had never said "NO" to those requests !

It must have been very hard for him, no matter where he was,

in or out of the Rink, he really behaved admirably.

Hanyu Senshu used Yokohama as his training base about 6

months ( 8 !?) while at weekends, he had to travel to join Ice

Shows held throughout the Country in order to help restore

the stricken areas.

Needless to say, it was such a severe surroundings for him

to have to move to the places where he wasn't get used to

like hotels and so on here and there. Nevertheless, Mr.Tsuzuki

thought that under that circumstance, he became stronger

and grew up in terms of mental development.

Apart from that, Mr.Tsuzuki also said that he had been

exerting every possible effort to bring up junior generation

to be qualified for an Olympian.

Last month, on the last day, when it was still dark from around

4:45am, training started off. There, they were on the ice,

students from elementary schools and junior high schools....

Yuna Aoki-San (12) said she could vividly remember all of

Hanyu Senshu's postures during training !  The height of his

jumps extremely surprised me. And when she asked him for

an advice, he taught her in a very polite way, saying things

like, "You had better make your axis much more straight."

And another girl, Kawabatake-San (川畑和愛)(12) said that

Hanyu Senshu enjoyed with her by playing tag(Oni-Kokko).

He was the senior who we adored / the man of our dreams !

Mr.Tsuzuki finally said, " Life at Yokohama must have left in

his heart and hope that he can be like a man who can make

a "large" flower bloom ! "

||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

(As you can see on the twitter, it's really hard to see the

words, small and quite obscured. Partially, the words were

not only blurred but just were not there ! So, in advance

please be apologized if there is any misunderstanding.)

Aww, i saw this tweet but like you said, the words were really hard to read x3 Thank you for the translation!

I always get mixed feelings when reading about Yuzu after the earthquake...

But i guess i should be glad and relieved that despite that terrible event, he managed to get through all this and become the skater and the person he is now.
