It doesn't matter how long I've known it, it's still unbelievable how he had thought about 2 OGMs and even when to get them since kindergarten. Damn it KINDERGARTEN :deadinside:. And not only Olympic champ but DOUBLE olympic champ :deadinside: :deadinside:.

I mean little Yuzu prob didn't even know how unreasonable it was as no one had ever done it since 1952. He just KNEW he would do it, like some supernatural power told him to?

The only thing I could explain with his case is everyone has their own fate, and some ppl just KNOW by instinct why they were born and live true to their fate with invincible faith that sometimes doesn't make sense to others. If I heard some kindergarten kid said "I will win 2 Olympics" I would just take it as a child's dream, just like "I want to be Superman" or "I want to be President" lol. But well, that's why some ppl are one-in-a-million and I am not :winky:

Btw "Since I'm not retiring yet, NOT YET"  is basically "Screw you ISU, I'm HERE, existing longer than your collapsing system" :9:"

Just imagine in kindergarten.

Little Joey: I wanna be Superman when I'm big.

Little Mary: I wanna be a princess when I'm big.

Little Yuzu: I will be a 2-time Olympic Champion. I will win my first Olympic gold medal in 2014 at age 19 and my second one in 2018 at age 23. :13877886:

I'd say fate + talent + desire to work very hard for it. I think last part is the hardest, as much as I admire Yuzu I can't imagine myself that much of a hardworking person. Sometimes if I'm into something/have some idea/project I can work day and night for it but usually it's not some long-term project, surely not all my life since kindergarten.

I think it's really astonishing how anybody can have such a huge passion and such a great vision and be so dedicated to them. My interests and passions change all the time. It's hard for me to imagine working so hard and so consistently over such a long period of time on one single dream. Yuzu is truly one of a kind. :cri:

Someone tell me to snap out of it - it's too early to be looking up hotels in Beijing after he's said he'll go if he thinks he can win... :headdesk:

Tell me about it! I spent the day trying to figure out how the ticketing system for the olympics works ;-; Beijing 2022 here i come i guess? :dontdothistome:

It's never too early to start! :agree2:

I have to admit that I've been visualizing about Yuzu winning in Beijing since he declared that he'd keep on competing after winning PyeongChang... :13877886:

I've been imagining what programs he'd use, what his costumes would look like, how he'd arrive in Beijing on a special plane called "Pooh Bear One"... :headdesk:

I've been seeing in my mind's eye how he'd be driven around in a gigantic limousine with a police escort while people on the streets wave their Poohs at him, how he'd deliver two absolutely beautiful, clean and perfect programs, get the biggest Pooh thunderstorm ever and break two new world records.

And of course, I will be there! I swore to myself that I'd be in Beijing watching Yuzu win his third Olympic gold medal if he should decide to compete there. If he's there, I will be there. Nothing can stop me! :003:

You ladies are still kindergarteners when it comes to the Yuzu insanity level! :10814716:

Fun fact: Mary met the Prince of Denmark during the Sydney Olympics and that's how she became a princess.

So dreams do come true! Not just for little Yuzu, but also for little Mary! :xD:

"Olympic Dream" means something for everybody then, not just smol mushrooms with great ambitions.

But seriously, though, I envy Yuzu his singularity of vision. I've spent my entire adult life trying to decide what I want to be when I grow up (after my one actual dream proved to be a financial nightmare I couldn't overcome). I would give my eyeteeth to be so passionate about, and good at,  something that my dream couldn't be denied even by a magnitude 9 earthquake. People would always tell me "well, you're so ____ (fill in blank with positive noun of your choice), you could be anything!" as if that's supposed to be some kind of help. Imagine having such a powerful dream, from such an early age, that you never had to experience the stress of trying to choose something, you just had to do it. It's not that it would be easy, because obviously it's not easy. It's that you would always know your path without wandering around lost in life. How lucky to have something like that.

The fact that he's so busy with his  quints, nessies, flip Axels or whatever, yet he also dedicated his time to research about this... His attention to detail is extraordinary.

I play the violin and I thought it was so cool when I saw it. He really does draw and angle the bow the way a dramatic violinist would look going from the A to the E string.  I bet he looked up lots of Edvin Marton videos to get the feel for it.

Now, the way he actually holds the bow.....I've seen little kids being taught a bow hold that way, by making a bunny shape with ears to get the thumb and middle two fingers in place, though it isn't right for properly playing with. However this is figure skating and we are not looking for everything to be completely literal. His hand looks more interesting with those fingers extended.
