On Sendai local news.  Love the way the elderly gentleman says emphatically how much he adores this expression/pose: "Tottemo suteki" (Really cool).

it's really growing nicely...amazing talented people really!

Today, the only thing that kept me from quitting my job in a melancholic fit of despair was the thought of seeing Yuzu at Worlds, knowing I'm still in the process of paying for the tickets. My boss owes Yuzu big time,  and will never know it. :wut:

Just needed to share that.

ikr....I went to a retirement seminar to find out how our retirement plan works just last week.

Luckily my work is being extremely accommodating and giving me all the leave, vacation and days off I ask for.

So I have days off in Jul, Aug, Sept and Oct.

I have recently sent in a request: asked for 4 educational days in Nov to attend a conference and for the 1100 USD fee.

If I get the last one too, I will likely keep working to afford more Yuzu live competitions until he retires.  At that time, I will

revisit retirement plans too.

Spoiler

You're lucky; thanks to the budget woes in our province, I, as a provincial employee, can no longer get conferences or educational days unless it comes out of my pocket. Because who needs healthcare workers that are well-educated when there's the almighty deficit to consider? :dontdothistome:

haha...the organization just supplies paid leave; the medical colleagues pay for my education out of some other fund(not related to my employer).  If I quit, my medical colleagues would have to do all the work themselves.  This way, I cost probably <half of my specialist colleagues fees and there is no replacement in the wings...so everyone is invested in keeping me happy at work.  The only thing that makes me a little sad...is that there is no one to hand of to...we are becoming a dying breed.  We have so much experience and knowledge to share ...but no successors. Candidates were offered several months of paid orientation..( inpatient hematology, outpatient hematology and ER).but no takers

Well, I'm a physics associate in medical physics (not a qualified physicist myself, I just do the grunt work of counting electrons and photons for radiotherapy QC...literally). Would be happy to leap to greener pastures but have absolutely no quals for anything in medicine at all...:(

May we have enough occasions to practise our skills in that game!
