I love Chopin as a composer and Chopin 1 was being skated when I first became a fan.  I have an irrational conviction that all the compromises of the season horribilis and the injury in the one that followed mean that it was never skated to his satisfaction, Even if 2 did get the WR. So I am fine with a third programme in a way that I can understand others aren't.  I don't have a problem with him refining it.  It's special.

It is special And special to him too. If it is indeed a piece of music he connects to that acts like armor- makes him feel stronger and confident in his skating and makes him feel like it can bring out the best version of himself - then I can't begrudge him reusing it a 3rd time for Olympic season. He did skate it clean thrice, all while injured. I'm sure he thinks he can do better.

I actually really love all the arm movements to the notes he does in Chopin, both in the old and new versions. His spin arm movements are always on point as well, even in the first spin that I'm still not sold on the timing for. But that movement after the 3T in the clean version is just so powerful it's probably going to become my favorite thing (well, the whole 4T3T will).

I love all his upper body movement in Chopin. Movement in the arms comes from articulation in the torso to the shoulders to the arms to the fingers. Everything also matches the weight/feeling of the notes - if they are lower or higher, softer or louder, staccato or held. Lower, louder notes have lower and straighter arms. Higher, softer notes are lighter and that's when he raises his arms and moves them softly.

Plus the judges are international so that's all right too.

This was what I was thinking. Because the judges (and frankly, crowd would be too) are international, and the crowd generally loves Yuzu and loves the energy of seimei, would this matter a lot?

:offtopic: I happened to see this at DM

and I just realized Yuzu had survived 3 generations of media-made-rivalries  :confused0066::5918bda810b8d_0004(1):

I wonder if he decides to stay after Pyeongchang, would there be the 4th generation of Yuzu's rival

Zuzu's fashion off ice is basically shirts + jeans/shorts or training wear. His questionable fashion sense only comes into play with his costumes and suits.

I 100% blame the stylist for that shoot. Aera doesn't seem to be able to style him properly...

Well that knit cardigan is "Tom Browne" and the current similar model costs 950 usd for normal knit and 1750 usd for cashmere. https://www.thombrowne.com/webstore/category/knits/

So, I suppose I should be thankful that at least they dress him in a fancy popular brand :xD:

Hi! Here's a piece of news from Japan.

Haven't really followed the posts for nearly a week

so not sure this has been posted yet.

Anyway, please feel free to delete. :img_20:

Briefly, it was only about a praise for Yuzu from a

well-known Japanese Baseball Player, Yuki Saito.

[He was the one who's called "Hankachi Oji (Hankerchief

Prince)" since his High School's days due to the fact that

he used it whenever he soaked with sweat.]

The paper mentioned that after the game at Sapporo last

year, someone persuaded him to go to see a figure skating

competition where he first watched Yuzu LIVE.

"Even after he failed, he did enjoy what he's doing and could

express himself or what he wanted to show to the public.",

said Mr.Saito about Yuzu who won at 2016 NHK Trophy.

He pointed out that he hadn't enjoyed the sport for a long

time and that Yuzu gave him the inspiration/courage to enjoy

what he's doing. He said this in his interview after he'd led the

team "Nippon Ham" (same to Mr.R.Otani) to win the game

last night (31.5.2017) after 623 days from his latest victory!

Below are the sources, also the ones from a local TV program,

"Dosanko Wide".

(For yr reference, "Dosanko" means Hokkaido-born person.

In previous days, it was the word used only for a horse born/

raised up in Hokkaido. Nowsaday, you may have heard about

"Dosanko Ramen" and so on )

A little OT, I guess. I'm analyzing some GOE averages for all top men as promised, which I'll probably post in the overall skating talk thread when done, but I need to vent how HARD this is because layouts change so damn much depending on pops, falls, and the goddamn time of the day. Nathan Chen didn't have a single layout that was the same and even changed the order of his spins from competition to competition. And every time I see a pop from Yuzuru I cry. He had A LOT of them.

Please save me from the statistics of Figure Skating

On the other side I believe he had the least number of falls through this season amongst all top men.

Show this to anyone who doesn't know yuzu. They would think he was an idol/actor/model.. Who would think this cute-handsome looking guy is an athlete?

I've said it before ... When he r****s he can easily be anything he wants in showbizz ... they would go after him in a second...:smiley-music025:

Thank you for sharing this bit of news!

I love how Yuzu is an inspiration for other athletes too!

This reminds me of his wish to expand his support to other atheltic fields when he was talking about his future plans in the show with oda and shoma...stating that he believes that his experience with dealing with injuries and surgery can probably benefit others...we see here that indeed he can influence and help so many other athletes, encouraging them to come back from slumps!
