I was comparing her scores to Anna S, and yes, yes different competitions, whatever, but ok. She has about 2.5 PCS higher and good. Good. She topped Anna's score by just a bit, but this was a much tougher panel than last week too.

I think she's stressed as she knows the competition within the group and the country is insane, so knock on wood, she has this first comp under her belt and that may help a tiny bit.

that was the first thing I did too when I saw her score! Now Anna won the SP but Alena won the FS. And that with a tougher panel and small mistake and going first in the sp. I think this competition was a good one for Alena and the competition inside the group is still open - I'd even argue slightly on her side with all the positive feedback she gets for her jumps, her GOE potential and her PCS potential.

I'm a bit dissapointed with this competition tbh. Alena was beautiful as always, even if her program wasn't perfect and the music is meh, second Alena did good (but I'm not totally sold, I don't know...), but from the other skaters I really liked only Haein.

I really hope Alena will get that 3A soon, it looks very promising.

Next week I probably can eatch Ladies and Men live again :party2:

How many have you watched?  This is the JUNIOR GP so they aren’t going to be senior standard by definition.  It’s great if you are going to watch and comment but please bear in mind that they are juniors.

I somewhat agree, but I think we can judge the top flights in the FS, especially since they are senior age or near senior age, and are supposed to be the best of the lot here. In that way, I'd say the only one who really impressed me was Koshiro Shimada. Everyone else either wasn't good or had programs that don't showcase them in a way to make them look good.

Uh I watch everything? And I only meant that this was one of the waekest junior competitions I watched in years. Easy, I know they're juniors and I'm very mych with Ted with his appreciation of every skater, I just know some of them can do much better. Hence dissapointment.

Sorry to be snappy - difficult day.  I feel for the ones who are the best a small federation can put up falling over their own feet especially in the SP when the draw puts them right up against the Russian girls.
