Liza [Khudaiberdieva] is 18 years old. From the outside, it probably seems that it's hard - the age difference. In fact, there is almost no age difference, it is insignificant.

I work with her in a very new way, it's nice. She is very executive, loving to work. She has a strong character, fighting. At competitions I was afraid of how everything would go with my new partner. But the girl does not show at all, does not worry. Holds like a stone, strong inside. Cool.

We complement each other, help. There cannot be a leader at this stage and there should not be. Everyone adjusts to each other, since we are still slipping, we need to help each other.

I am 25 years old and my sports life was born for the second time this year. Therefore, I also want to ride, and I will have at least 5 years. Otherwise, everything that I have done before is meaningless.

What we won in Syzran is a small first step that we had to do with Liza. It's cool that we won, but this will be the first starting point in our career.

Buyanova about Danielian

Quote

After the operation, Artur stayed in Germany for four days, then returned. Now he is coming to his senses - the plaster cast and stitches have already been removed, but while he is wearing a brace. Since this week, little by little they have begun to restore his leg, but no one knows how long this recovery will take, so we are not planning anything in the near future. He is constantly in touch with German doctors, and as the doctors say, we do it literally point by point.

I know Mishin is willing to just switch music and keep the same program.... but this is next level not caring about the music...

Eta: just noticed it was already posted in the competition thread, sorry.

It’s ok. It’s sad they had to do this with the skater who can pull off any difficulty level of StSqs.

Surely Kolyada would have said something about the choreo if he wanted to? Maybe the real choreo is not ready yet? Very very weird, honestly. (TBH most step sequences don't match the music to me at all anyway and could really be put to any music at all but this just seems lazy and frankly a bit insulting to his fans' intelligence that they think no one will notice 😅).

It’s sorta understandable, he wants to be consistent and stable for some time to get back among the top Russian men, so he didn’t expend too much energy on having to do two StSqs. Why not since it’s not punishable by any rules. Just... weird.

Yeah. He's good enough to change things up....

That being said: this is not the first time I've seen this in my decades of figure skating watching. I can't remember specifics of who or when, but it really didn't surprise me at all. At least it's not overly common.

Evgenia Medvedeva will not be added to the stage of the Russian Cup in Kazan
Competitions will be held from 8 to 12 November

MOSCOW, November 3. / TASS /. The silver medalist of the Olympics in Pyeongchang, figure skater Evgenia Medvedeva, does not plan to participate in the fourth stage of the Russian Cup in Kazan, which will be held from November 8 to 12. This was reported to TASS by a source in the Russian Figure Skating Federation (FFKKR).

"Medvedev will not perform in Kazan," the FFKKR reported.

Medvedeva began recovering jumping after a break due to a back injury
Two-time world and European champion Medvedeva missed the first and second stages of the Russian Cup, which were held in Syzran and Moscow, respectively. The skater began the examination due to an aggravated back injury, later TASS learned that the athlete had a problem with a pinched back nerve. On October 15, Medvedeva returned to the ice.

The Russian Cup stage is considered a qualifying tournament for the December Russian Championship in Chelyabinsk. According to the regulations of the FFKKR, athletes who performed at two stages of the country's cup can participate in the tournament. The final stage will take place in Moscow in early December.

In September, Medvedeva returned to coach Eteri Tutberidze, with whom she worked from 2007 to 2018. For the past two years, the skater has been training in Toronto under the guidance of Canadian specialist Brian Orser.

Just found this on Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/p/CHORgHbpfwR/). Seems to be an interview with Pirouette. Those who are fluent in German can maybe confirm the quality of the translation?

Anyway,

From Alyona: There were some problems. Athletes like me, Anna and Kamila can’t train together with children born in 2010. You have to explain to them that the older girls will not be considerate. My suggestions were not accepted. So I called Sergei Alexandrovich and he told me to think twice before the move but he helped me make the change (to Plushenko) I also didn’t like my program (created at Tutberidze school) which I said more than once. I really like the new program, I find the new program very suitable for me, the lyrics correspond to what is happening in my life. Now I feel happy, satisfied and ready to train for new victories and goals.

From Plushenko: (The question is so then Alena Kostornaia suddenly came to you?) It was her own choice. If the athlete wants to, why not? I have the opportunity and I am ready for it. She wasn’t quite ready for the test skates, we’ve only been training together for a month. Before that, she had lost her whole form, she hadn’t trained in her old group (at Tutberidze) for 3 weeks. They wouldn’t let her go, it was like this. So a lot of time was lost and we had to create a program in 1 month until the test skates and get (Aliona) back into shape. She did a lot of work. Now we are bringing back the 3A, building a free skate, running the short program & sewing costumes.

From her answers, I like that she seems to be very strong-willed and determined (outspoken too). She knows what she wants and isn't afraid to make changes to pursue them. Her explanations as to why she left Sambo-70 also make so much sense.

Next stage is coming, I can't wait to see her performances :)

PS: Many people don't seem to like her SP, but I like it :)
