It does have the elements of a warhorse, though I think Surrounded would also work well as an ending piece- it was edited as the end in Anasina and Peizerat's performance. A King for a King would also work nicely. His costume might then look closer to POTO then?

Closer to POTO costume but maybe in some colour other than red for olympic season?  Like how H&L was a variation of etude in terms of colour gradient. Since athletes have their superstitions and all. Though I'd love to see him in red again.

YES PLEASE

I thought we said he shouldn't challenge gender norms yet during Olympic season...

Though someone mentioned above it seems Yuzu might really like Man in the Iron Mask music (personally prefer the cut from Anassina and Peizerat), and I think that and Les Mis would work well for him.

Well... I don't know what kind of story he would come up with, with Memoirs of a Geisha's music... but the music in itself is just wonderful. After all, a skater has to have the delicacy and the beauty in movement that a Geisha has. Even the most masculine skaters.

In any case, I think one has to be careful with Les Mis. It's overused music, very Romantic, with very specific musics. I've been the biggest Les Mis fan and I've sang along every piece, with Yuzu-level lyrics memory. But it's hard for me to see a piec that would be right for him.

What piece would you see for him? Marius's "Empty chairs at empty tables"? A medley with "Do you hear the people sing" and music from the Barricade fight? Or a Jean Valjean medley, with the "Who am I" theme, and religion?

Ah, I was thinking "Do you hear the people sing" =) Hmm...it might work better for Ex then. Now I'm browsing through the Last Samurai to see if I can ID anything that would work, but the other day I was thinking Red Warrior and Warriors in the Mist would work.

Please link here if you find anything that might be interesting!

I'm still pretty sure that the FS is actually Seimei tho... with a new musical arrangement

In fact, I wouldn't mind 4T3T as the penultimate or final element instead of the step sequence and spin (like the 3S was intended to be in Caro's Bolero, but she couldn't quite manage it). But I know that is unrealistic; it's risky enough to put it as the last jumping pass. I don't think I was appreciating that enough before. There's no second chance for a combo—he's walking a tightrope without a net. No chance anyone else will copy that.

This reminded me an idea I had after all that Yuzu's yolo 3As: it would amazing if he could put that jump as the last element of FS or SP, like in pairs when Stolbova or Savchenko did triple throw as their last element in the programme - it seemed pretty impressive. But i understand that Yuzu's programmes are too packed (not only jumps but also difficult steps, spins) so that's hardly realistic (but then the next yea'r FS will be shorter)

I have just re-read the list of possible music choices and I think we can exclude already any piano pieces, especially piano concertos by Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninoff, because of Chopin. I am not even sure about classic music for FS.

The most probable choice will be some OST (hello, Seimei ) or musical.

Look at previous senior seasons:

2011-2012 classic SP and OST FS

2012-2013 blues rock SP and musical FS

2013-2014 blues rock SP and OST FS

2014-2015 classic SP and musical FS

2015-2016 classic SP and OST FS

2016-2017 rock SP and modern classic  japanese FS

2017-2018 classic SP and ? FS

So there are always completely different music styles for SP and FS and I don't think it will change a lot. Still we can get classic music FS, but something very far away from Chopin.

Of course Yuzu can prove me completely wrong after all  .

I like The Man in the Iron Mask OST very much. Yagudin already skated to it and won OGM, but it was long time ago and this music is not overused, so why not? It has it all to make a dramatic FS.

I found some more music suggestions in GS Yuzu FF. There seem to be really lots of them altogether because I found so many though started from the page 1000 and have not browsed through the thread page by page (except pages 1946-2110).

Very happy about OP in early August. Hopefully only a month to wait for FS news. I wonder if FS is Seimei2, why he didn´t tell it out already. I don´t mean skating the program in FaOI but only saying that it´s going to be Seimei2. To focus on Chopin and ice shows or why? Actually I have started to believe more and more that it will be something new.

I will stop this crazy search now, have no time for this anymore. In spite of the fact that this list of suggestions does not make us any wiser about the FS music, it has been interesting to find out what kind of music fans would like him to skate. I will surely keep listening to these pieces though it might be that his choice is not here.

Thanks! Actually I think I have been lucky. I mostly picked pages here and there and happened to find many music discussions. I believe there is much more before the page 1000 and after the page 2110 that I have not looked at at all.

@Lyyli- that must have taken ages to sort out of the GS thread- thank you.  Maybe I'll get my Edward Scissorhands/ Danny Elfmann programme if there's any truth in the twitter rumour.

Thank you so much for this incredible work! It is so interesting - going through these pieces and trying to imagine Yuzu skating to them... :tumblr_inline_mg15qnUpxW1qdlkyg:
