But with Wakaba not doing sectionals still makes no sense to me. The process of advancing from regionals to nationals gets interrupted. Will her Skate Canada result be taken into account instead of sectionals when qualifying for nationals

Agree that it's strange, like even if she doesn't advance at regionals (not that that'd happen) she still gets a bye for sectionals? Like what's the point?

Love her skating to pieces (and Shoma's too) but unless either of them is planning to move to Toronto and Chicago full time, it just seems like you're trying to put a band-aid on a compound fracture.  A couple weeks away from home here and there to work on "jumps"...I don't really buy the effectiveness. I think that type of thing needs to be your everyday if (and it's a big if) there's going to be any real hope at all.

I have to say an evil part of me wants to see Yuzu take part in regionals - just for the sake of the chaos it would cause...

I think it'd be something similar to Kinki Regionals...You need to get a ticket by a lottery...

The other skaters would certainly have appreciated the attention the competion got!

Nooooooooooooooooo :59227c768286a__s:

I was happy that her FS was much better than her SP, but now I'm :tumblr_inline_ncmif7esGm1rpglid:

poor Waka, I hope she can heal...tho it's less than 3 weeks to skate canada:tumblr_inline_mn41rkfu9v1qz4rgp: I have no idea what an injury to the instep means, how much serious can it be? What kind of treatment? Rest at the very least, I suppose...

RE: Dai's programs

I like the SP  :10636614: reading his words I was prepared for something awful, but it was a very good debut:tumblr_inline_ncmif5EcBB1rpglid: Looking forward to this program at Nats. I really hate that costume tho:waffle:

I like the FS less (also stop cutting the darn legs, cameramen!:gaah:), part of the reason is that I'm not thrilled by most of the music, tho I like the moves at the beginning. I still don't like the costume, but I don't particularly hate it either:dancingpooh:

he needs more work on spins, but, well, he isn't the only one, this season! :xD:

I'm happy that Kazuki won the competition, and I hope he'll skate with more confidence at his GP

RE: Tatsuki

he's one of a kind:tumblr_inline_mg16go8gBg1qdlkyg:

So sad that he's completely retiring from FS at such a young age...I wish him all the best in his accademic pursuits:tumblr_inline_n18qraikFP1qid2nw:

I love his words about creating a FS culture, such a powerful message!

ISU should listen to those words too, they can't be relying forever on big stars and drama...they should promote the beauty of figure skating

Sara Honda (11), sister of Marin, won Novice A in Kinki regionals with the score of 100.74

The article says she landed good 3Lz+3T and 2A+3T+2T :tumblr_inline_ncmiffG34Z1rpglid:

I want to see the video !!!

I'm happy she won! I liked her SP a lot when I saw it, and she looks very promising...

re: Satoko working on her jumps

I'm happy she's doing that :tumblr_inline_n18qrbDQJn1qid2nw: she's probably trading her consistency for a bit more power into her jumps. I admire her for this, but a few weeks will hardly be enough...

For the same reason, Shoma's should be abroad working on his jumps for longer periods.

And Wakaba could move to TCC 'cause I still want her there:tumblr_inline_n2pje3s3EO1qdlkyg: just imagine what they could do with her Axel, if they're already improving Med's 2A:tumblr_inline_n2pje2YFXq1qdlkyg: i really want her to bring that 3A...(of course eshe needs to heal first)

On the other side, Marin went to Raf and her jumps aren't much better, but it's still way too early to say anything, so crossing fingers for everyone:fingerscrossed:

I'm sad for Rika H.'s jumps too. She's another skater whose jumps need a lot of work:13877886: it's a pity, she is so entertaining.

oh, now I'm thinking about Moa's jumps too:tumblr_inline_ncmif7esGm1rpglid:

what are you doing, JSF? there is dire need of good jump specialists across Japan, URs are killing (and killed) the scores of so many good skaters:tumblr_inline_n18qr8XewT1qid2nw:

If Yuzuru does regionals, its gonna be Tohoku-Hokkaido regionals right ? This year there is only one (1) senior men at this comp so....

Yesterday, Dai said its 18 years since the last time he did regionals

When was the last time Yuzu did regionals?

I would love to see the chaos if he does do one :68468287:

It's true and in re to Satoko, though this is just my personal observation, some of her jumps looked slightly better (bigger) during the challenger to me so it's a real shame she probably cannot switch fully as if so, she may be capable of it if she were to switch permanently. Ah well, if wishes were horses and all...

I noticed her double axel is better but everything else looks too shaky for me to tell very well for now. It would have been nice if she could have jumped her natural direction all along so she wouldn't have to deal with this stuff now, but we can't turn back time.
