Small interruption: Post now updated with 2012-2013 ice show performances. :tumblr_inline_mg16esQ1hY1qdlkyg:

Personal thoughts:

  • He is absolutely the most beautiful whenever he skates to Hana ni Nare
  •  I realised that I really don't like Hello, I Love you. So much so that I actually prefer Somebody to Love even if it means listening to Bieber. (I may harbour a bit of resentment with Kurt Browning for his choreography)
  • The Ice is fun (also Yuzu was so thin here he looked like he was half the body width of Charlie White)
  • Parisienne Walkways didn't really start out that well; nobody would've thought it would be breaking records (no wonder Yuzu was so surpised at SA) let alone become his signature program.
  • His 3A is absolutely huge. Covers the whole short side of the rink (watch Japan Super Challenge 2012)

Thank you so much for your hard work! Compiling this must be a tough job, I can't wait to watch all this :snpeace:

What's interesting about this interview is, after shoma said "King"is the one word that describes Yuzu in his mind, and Yuzu gave the above reaction, he went on to say that to him (Yuzu), "King" is always Plushenko, and to hear shoma say that Yuzu is king now, on the evening of the announcement of Plushenko's r****ment (this was filmed a few months back), makes him wonder and think deep about the meaning of this ...

It just goes to show that each generation was influenced by different "King"(also ties into the GOAT discussion before, how Javi  and Yuzu's generation will probably personally have a tendency to consider Plushy as GOAT) but the torch now has passed on from Plushy to Yuzu (and Yuzu realizing this)...

Great points - there was definitely some sort of complex realisation/emotion going on with Yuzu's reaction! Interestingly, I think Plushenko was quite early in realising this - he's been saying Yuzu will pick up his mantle since Sochi, hasn't he? Has he said that for any other skater before?

(This also makes me appreciate how fast skating generations move)

I can't believe you're not only hunting down videos and organizing all of this, but you're actually also watching them all?

I'm thinking with all of the talk about yuzu upgrading his fs, what would that make javi feels? It must be intimidating training and knowing what your rival is doing or even capable of doing... oh well, I hope everyone performs well during olympics and may the judges judge fairly!!!!

(going back to watch worlds 2017 haha)

Love embarrassed Zuzu when the female reporter call him out on the trick he plays on the audience’s hearts lol (flying kiss seem natural to him now haha, so he should own up!):kitty:

Also in the studio she said that he is sweaty but doesn't smell AT ALL and all the other female commentators were amazed lol:rofl:

Must say I wouldn't really mind Yuzu-flavoured aroma :BeatingHeart:

Well... I want to make sure that I've got the right videos. :68468301:

Also, once I start watching I feel compelled to finish the video.

Although, there are videos where I start watching to make sure it's the correct clip then, when I'm sure it is, skip it entirely.

BB!Vertigo (that horrid costume) and Hello, I Love You are examples.

And he did a 3A-3A-SEQ there too.

I just realized, watching RJ1 again, that the Inner Bauer in this program is my favorite of all the ones he has done in his competitive programs, because it holds for quite a while after he comes off the layback position. I love that.

Sorry for being late but reading this make me laugh kinda a lot:

Technically he understands that: "As long as you skate cleanly, even if you have no transitions, people still think that you have a lot of transitions."

What's the point of adding so many difficult transitions into his programs then? Seriously... why Yuzuru doesn't play it the easier way. But guess what, if Yuzuru did 40 crossovers in a long program, he would never get the same PCS as someone, a skater who actually has almost 40 crossovers in his long program. The judging makes me sick.

Now you understand why ex top skaters never want to become a judge or a specialist, they know skating and they can not stand the stupidity, the bias and the lies in the judging. Ask Trankov. He even said it out loud.

A really really revenge-bent part of my mind wants to grab all the potential judges for the Oly and international competitions, lock them in a month-long camp where we get to teach them how to skate and properly do counters, brackets and rockers....

This tho.. Javi.. Im a new fan however i have been watching/reading/researching everything about yuzu but even tho im a fan of the king of ice, i feel sorry for Javi.

Javi won 2 WC, however, people, not just fans but commentors and senior f.skaters consider Yuzu as #1 ( i completely agree with them).. so, i keep wondering how does Javi feel about this..

P.S. even competitive skaters still think Yuzu as #1 even tho Javi won over him. Ex.. Skaters push yuzu to start the quad battle even if Javi was the winner

*sorry about my english* 😁
