Okay, so the things I got wrong, I've messed up world Ranking and World Standings. For those interested:

  Reveal hidden contents

the “ISU World Standings” which is taking into account results of the preceding two seasons and the current season and remains the basis for the draws at ISU Events and part of the criteria for the selection of competitors for the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating and other ISU Events designated by the Council. (

2.4.1 Current and intermediate season’s earned points will count 100 %

2.4.2 Previous season’s earned points will count 70 %)

• the “ISU Season’s World Ranking” which is based on the results of the current ongoing season only. It has the main purpose to reflect the current competitive performances of the skaters and give the public and the media an indication of the current actual competitiveness of the skaters.

So, while Yuzu is already behind most people in Season's world standings, having won "Only" two silvers, even with somebody else taking GPF title, he can come out on top with Olys gold &World 1-2 finish or smh like that+random competition before Olys, preferably 4cc, but not so preferably because of the timing of the competition.

His World standings, if I'm not a mess at counting (again) are as follows: 756 (70%worth of 2nd place at WC)+  1200(last WC)+ 560+280(70% GPF+NHKgold '15)+ 800+400 (full worth GPF+NHK Gold last season)+360 (CoR'17)+175 (70% worth ACL'15)+ 300(full worth ACL'16)+270(this year ACL)=...

...Actually If my calculator isn't lying to me, or I'm not doubling something up, his points tally is 5101 right now, not 4821 as ISU's webpage suggest. Now, I'm a bit scared. Somebody check my math!

Also, as somebody brought up, few federations are taking into consideration the World Standing when chosing their teams for Worlds and Olys. (As everyone, I'm 100% sure this won't be needed in Yuzu's case)

so they only take best 4 out of 6 scores in GP category.

it is okay... if he can't reach the 5th consecutive year. time to take a break and start from the beginning again with our axel baby.

please cure your leg Zuzu. I don't care about anything now, just cure your leg.

fml, another round of disaster to me...

so, someone please translate it. I am dead

It seems that after 10 days of rest, 3-4 week back to normal (competition condition) is HARD. and the status of all jumps might not be close to his best... and loop, flip and lz...:sadPooh:

I'll wait for a proper translation, but I guess that most of it is just speculation of the author? I'lI believe only those things Yuzu said in his interview.  These days there are many people opining on his injury in the media, but these are just opinions, not necesarily the truth.

He went to Tokyo to cure his leg. National Sports Science Center in Tokyo. No TCC?????:sadPooh:

Have some faith in him, remember what he had to recover from, very quickly too, last off season. For all the wrong reasons, his team is quite experienced in the recover quickly field. Trust in his team and his training a bit. =)

Since everyone is talking politics and feds and such. I'm just gonna go ahead and say this, that imo it's rly ironic the amount of political influence and outrage(from the audience) Yuzuru has and can cause considering as far as fs politics go Yuzuru's precense is basically non-existent with him not having a PR team or even a hired manager and such... :tumblr_inline_ncmifiE3IT1rpglid:

Yeah, a friend who follows the JPN entertainment industry was quite shocked when I told her Yuzu was not signed to any talent agency.

I trust him, his team, his training, but not his body.

:snonegai::snonegai::snonegai:Let's all pray for his healthy body and speedy recovery. :snonegai::snonegai::snonegai:

he plays politics by not playing politics. His fanbase has scary solidarity in supporting him, and the medua is probably charmed by the fact he is so honest, with no trained PR dressing.

have some faith in his body too. He has amazing stamina for a boy with asthma. Also go check out some of the injuries the other guys had, Nate has already had surgery, Vincent had to remove some of his kneecap I heard, Plush had surgery on his spine.  Yuzu has had some scary ones, but at least all the known ones appear less than some of the other guys jumping quads.

I remember a quote by Kikuchi-san I think? Where someone asked him what he thought Yuzuru's greatest strength is and his answer was sincerity, and that Yuzuru is a very sincere boy and that sincerity is his best weapon.

He's so right, Yuzuru might loose points with *certain* casuals bc of his lack of PR presence and just generally being the butt of all bashing (), but he wins over so many supporters by just presenting himself plainly

also excuse the fact that I've been rly soft lately, I'm just.................. this alien mutant faerie angel vampire prince(did I miss anything?) called Yuzuru Hanyu is such a blessing that the world doesn't deserve but somehow managed to obtain

I am curious, do you think it may be due to his jumping techniques that he doesn't have the major injuries some of the other skaters have? I have read in this forum before that Yuzu has quite good axis and body alignment when jumping and landing (not sure if I remember right), so can that be the reason why he hasn't suffer a "major" injury so far like Nathan (for example)? On another note, it seems like majority of Yuzu's injuries are at his ankles and knees, what can be the contributors to that? Is it his technique that makes him more prone to injuries on his ankle and knee?
