I know you don't want politics in the planet, but as this could directly affect those of us who are eu citizens and post on forums, blogs, tumblr etc I hope this breach of policy may be forgiven.

The New copyright reforms the EU ist in the progress of making could make using/uploading memes or links to news paper articles illegal.

https://juliareda.eu/eu-copyright-reform/

Please share and contact your countries MEPs to protest this. Yes we need updated copyright laws but as some people out there already said this could border on/be used for censorship if this goes forth as it is right now.

Some crazy things: I am going to New Jersey in U.S for internship, which is not the state my University located in. Basically I have to live in this strange city for almost 2 months and god dam it I have no idea how to get myself fit into the new place. (Although my internship is pretty cool) The only thing can comfort me is to shift my anxiety, paying attention to Hanyu while talking with you guys.

I recently had a similar experience! I'm on a 4-week clinical placement in a totally different town out in the countryside (I'm from the city) but I've only got a week left to go :) It will be uncomfortable at first but after the first week or two you'll settle in and meet some people. What are you interning in?

I got my intern in an NGO. It's a research and advocacy institute focus on women's human right through a global area. Your intern sounds really cool! Are you a medical intern?

It's not a thought, but, well. I swear it's not for profit, I just had it custom made, because... I need it, okay? :pouty:

A Hope&Legacy phone case??? Omg that's so cool you had it made precisely!! It even has the pretty name on it :13877886:

My friend is making one for me, handmade of course. I guess it can't be as perfect but handmade also has a nice special feel to it, I'm looking forward to holding it in my hands :embSwan:

It was really easy to do actually. There's this online shop specialises in phone/tab accesories, and they offer customised case. So, all I needed to do was upload the picture of Zu's costume and place it where I want and type the words. I ordered it Thursday, it arrived Friday.

Now, I'm jealous you'll get a handmade one. *pout

But, really tho, share when you get it!:winky:

That's awesome! And nope, not a medical intern just yet, still a med student haha. I got to do a community health placement in refugee health once that had a strong NGO vibe and it was a great experience! Good luck, you'll enjoy it for sure.

I have been wanting to learn a new language for awhile. But I can’t pick between Korean or Japanese. I even did a pro/con list and they turn out pretty much the same.  :tumblr_inline_ncmifiE3IT1rpglid:

Which one seem the easiest to learn? :13877886:

Do both, grammar is fairly similar. =P

I think Japanese is easier to learn. The Korean alphabet and Korean pronunciation is more difficult than Japanese in my opinion, but there's no kanji which is a plus. The grammar is pretty much the same and a lot of the vocab overlaps too.

I was thinking that too. But I think it’s hard cus JP variety shows and drama isn’t easy access to learn from while Korean drama and variety shows are pretty easy access.

I have a lot of spare time. Eventually I will pick one.... :14066882:

If you already watch a lot of K-dramas, you could combine that with something like Talk To me In Korean. That'll be fun and you'll see results quite quickly because in K-dramas people tend to speak quite slowly and there are a lot of common expressions.

Japanese TV isn't as helpful for beginners because they tend to speak quite fast and the subtitles are usually in kanji. I think it would be more useful once you've done enough textbook study.

It's not too late! If you already know Korean you'll be able to pick up Japanese super fast. Go hard on vocab, learn some basic grammar structures and all the verb conjugations and you should be good to go :)

I think I might learn Korean first then go for Japanese. Korean drama and music is going to help me out a lot. Might take me years though :13877886:

Learning two languages at the same time is just too hard for me. I’m a little on the less then bright side but I’m willing to learn so that’s something :tumblr_inline_n18qr5AMus1qid2nw:

Thanks for advise ladies :loveshower:

No problem! If you're going with Korean first, I highly recommend Ella K on Youtube! She's self-taught and her Korean is really good. She has videos on how she learns Korean through a variety of resources, including how to study Korean from dramas.
