Ladysci
The basic information on the NHK Cup tickets have been posted. Basically ticket sales will be through lottery only and tickets will be e-tickets. There is a link for the application for the lottery on the same page, but no information is up yet (says coming later). So far, the prices are listed for single-day tickets, limit of 2 per application and you must specify the names of the people using the ticket. At present, no foreign nationals can enter Japan, regardless of state of vaccination, with or without quarantine period, but after the state of emergency is lifted, the policy will be decided again. There may be some tours organized, but only for those inside Japan already. Lottery application period is Oct 5 2021 (Tue) at 10 am to Oct 11 (Mon) at 11:59 pm. Do not know whether there will be all-event tickets ---does anyone who attended in previous years know? Also, in previous years, there were tickets made available for foreigners, but apparently not this year because of Covid. All-event tickets were sold back in NHK 2019. Apparently not for this year. The site for it is actually still live, so you can check it out if you're curious: https://nhk-trophy2019.jp/ Like you said, even though the site does not explicitly say that foreigners are not allowed, tickets still cannot be purchased abroad. To make an eplus.jp account to enter the lottery, you need to have a Japanese mobile number, address, and credit card. Effectively, we're screwed. Good luck to those lucky enough to enter, though! 頑張れ!

Good luck to those lucky enough to enter, though! 頑張れ! Yes, it seems like they are trying to make it impossible for those outside Japan (even Japanese living abroad) to get tickets---because NHK is Japan's public broadcaster, which you must pay a fee for every year, they need to have a more "internationally friendly" policy, since that is the image they are trying to project. Now I'm back in Japan, as least for the time being because of Covid, but still have no Japanese mobile number; guess the lottery will be incentive to get a Japanese sim . However, since there are only about 5000 tickets available (because of Covid restrictions), I don't hold much hope for getting a ticket if I enter the lottery. Not only the person buying the ticket but also the accompanying person, if you buy two tickets, must have a Japanese mobile number, since the ticket is sent to the mobile. Think if you don't live near Tokyo, it is inconvenient not to have all event tickets, since going there for one day will make the flight seem "more expensive", but guess you can save on the hotel . Guess it will be the same way for the GPF and Japan Nationals .

That's kinda bad news for future reference, cuz I still have hopes to go to summer shows in Japan one day and it will be even harder if policy will not change.
