The news about Yuzu’s withdrawal from GP on Weibo has been viewed 110 million times with 11,000 comments.

Over 100 millions?? :tumblr_inline_mzx95p7TPv1r8msi5:

I know he is famous in China but... Who even needs humility with numbers like that???

(Petty me thinking about the ISU bragging about a few million *impressions*, with paid ads)

That casino guy is just a clown who desperate for attention. He has been using Yuzuru name for clicks in the past few days and he wont' stop any time soon because there's alot of people support him . If you spend 5 minutes to look closer, its mainly Shoma and Nathan fans, yeah, I called them out this time. More accounts for me to block ~

At the end of the day, Yuzuru is a better person than anyone who try to bash him and pretend to act humbly.

Wow I feel like I have a sixth sense! I haven't been active here for the past months but decided to check for any news and now this!!. As many of you have so eloquently put into words, I fully support Yuzu's decission even if that means we won't see him for months. He is really showing his maturity here and I couldn't be more proud . The world is really in a complicated situation so I hope you all are healthy and stay healthy.

When you don't know what a "quadruple axel" is and you Google it, a little paragraph comes up at the top that helpfully says "no figure skater to date has landed the quadruple Axel in competition." :embSwan:

noooo way to ruin my hopes (LOL joking, that's probably how things went):68468287:

Edit: Is there some significance to my post being the number “666” which is called “The Number of the Beast” in The New Testament and the subject of the post and video being The Quad Axel?

:peekapooh:

my addendum to the casino guy thing, under spoiler

Spoiler

it looks like current president of JSF has ties to the casino business himself (but even if he left, of course he would be in close contact with people in the business, as shown by casino guy's pic)

iirc former (unfamous)president Hashimoto, too, has important ties and interests in the casino business.

She was the one who recommeded Nagashima, she is in LDP too and, when she left JSF, she became "Minister of State for Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games" under (now former)premier Abe. So there's politics and money involved.

(It also looks like Nagashima switched to LDP in the same year he became JSF president:huh:)

so, even if casino guy isn't part of JSF, and even if he is expressing "just" a personal opinion, even if he has his own interests re:his business + desire to get attention, his ties with JSF president (and some common interests with former president) are...interesting, to say the least.

One doesn't need a big conspiracy to justify some petty nonsense being sprouted on social media  (there's too many antis and attention seekers already) but JSF president being buddies with this particular guy makes one raise eyebrows (especially when Nagashima himself has been tweeting/retweeting questionable stuff every now and then)

I made a video of all of Yuzus 4lo jumped in competition! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tPbsgiMJCB0 His 4lo is one of my favourite jumps so I wanted to see how it developed throughout his career. I hope we can see it again soon whenever it's safe for competitions!

aww thank oyu for this! What a walk down memory lane... sometimes a traumatic one. Gosh the axis is scary sometimes, but I'm so happy Yuzuur has conquered it! Sad 4Lo wasn't borught to play in 4CC :/

@Hanmgse welcome back, take care and stay healthy&safe you too:10742289:

The All Japan Championship, which also serves as the selection for the 21st World Championship, will last until the end of the year, but ice skating federation officials said he had not heard of Hanyu's participation.

Let's hope the pandemic is over soon and we see Yuzu skating again. :smiley-angelic001:

And now Nagashima from JSF is supportive of Yuzuru's decision?

Here is the statement and automatic translation since it can't be embedded right now:

あいきょさんの仰るとおりです。羽生選手ご本人にとっても苦渋の決断でした。考え抜いた立派な判断だったと思います。連盟としても、ご本人の判断を尊重させていただきました。

"As Aikiyo says. It was a difficult decision for Hanyu himself. I think it was a well-thought-out decision. The Federation will respect the judgment of the individual."

Eta: He actually distanced himself from casino-guy. (I personally don't care about trolls, but a reaction from JSF is another story)

that's good to know! (and a relief)

hopefully that's truly what he thinks and JSF support will be for real. Till now, I have to give credit to them for behaving better than some other feds, with their announcements about JGP and earlier challengers (before ISU decided to cancel JGP and announced those changes about challengers and GP)

JSF openly backing Yuzu...is the world ending?! Sign of the times. :surprised_pikachu:

I guess thing blew out of water since that casino guy keep engaging with antis, RT/like the slander tweets about Yuzuru so JSF have to speak up. To me its to save face rather than supporting Yuzuru. I don't have any trust in JSF. But at least, they aren't openly against their skater on SNS, the bar is really low with all the feds.

Well, considering that JSF has already withdrawn all their junior skaters from international competition in the name of COVID-19 prevention and said they wouldn't send anyone to Challengers either, it would be more than a touch hypocritical of them to criticize Yuzu's decision to withdraw from the GP now. But I didn't expect them to come out and say they respect his decision. That's a big surprise and a definite acknowledgement of Yuzu's good sense.

There's alot money, TV rights, sponsors in GPs, very different from JGP and that's why ISU keep pushing it. Yuzuru's WD is not long after ISU revamp GP and NHK's ticket detail will be up soon. As I said, that casino man keep playing with anti and their slanders,  and to have a relation with someone openly bashing their star skater doesn't give JSF chairman and the whole fed a good look ( if you look at his tweets, he keep denying his relation with casino man and putting off blame of himself)) I do think if that clown didn't go too far with anti and fans didn't make it a big deal, no way JSF would speak up. At least JSF still try to behave nice in public but I don't trust them lol.

About Challengers, lets wait and see since there's a rumor about Shoma go to Nebelhourn.

Of course they didn't say they support his decision, they said they respect it. I mean, they couldn't have done any less, because no way in hell would JSF openly acknowledge someone who engages (or engage themselves) with antis of their own skater. That would just be too openly hostile, and JSF is all about plausible deniability. Nothing more, nothing less. Saying "I don't know this person" is a cheap, age-old lie to cover your own ass.

However, this casino guy's views are likely as endemic in JSF as its connections to the casino industry (so it seems). It's only shocking to hear those views voiced outright, but what he says is in line with a long history of actual treatment from JSF. So our instincts are most likely right.
