Sota Yamamoto, Yuhana Yokoi, and Sara Hong in the practice rink, I guess?

Looks like Finlandia Trophy has its mobile application with which you can send virtual flowers to the skaters.

Look at Finland go, moving skating into the 21st century.

Really trust the Finnish to be always one step in front of the rest.

I also like the idea of paying for a pass to see one event or the whole season ,ISU see it’s not that hard 🙄

Alena's 3A and 3A-2T during practice today. :tumblr_inline_ncmif5EcBB1rpglid:

I am looking forward to her debut in the seniors. :cheer: I am curious if we'll see her 3A in the free skate here or she just practices now and we'll see it for the first time during the SP series. Maybe it'd be good if she can give it a try here at Finlandia, the pressure is less here than at a GP event.

Good luck to her!

Seems like Alyona will put 3A2T in her FS!

FS runthrough:

I think she'll put 3A in her SP too.

Will be away with very spotty WiFi for the next 8 days so I’ll wish Sota the very best now and look forward with interest  to seeing the footage of them all when I get back.

Yay! for Kostornaia and her 3A. My favourite overall package of the 4A, for sure... and favourite Russian female skater, bar none.

oooh, they are beauties!  Better than Tuk's  (not as much stalking) and Rika's (not as tilted in the air).  Such control on the landing :clapping-smiley: Anyone know who her favorite skater is?  The kick at the end of the combo reminds me of Yuzu but can't remember if that's something a lot of Eteri skaters do. Excited to see how she fares against Tuk.

So happy to see her in the running for that Russian team. Still sad for the ladies who won't make it though.

This looks like a really good field for a challenger.  Every event has a big attraction.

Looking forward to seeing Shoma in a real competition.  I hope his short is better than his long.  Love Roman!  I hope he can get his jumps consistent - I like Keegan but I'd like Roman to get that world spot (ok, I know that's a long shot).  If Sota can medal here it should be a real confidence booster after all his struggles.  Jimmy is always fun.  I don't like Sergei's skating, but there's something about the guy that makes you cheer for him.  Celestino was such a surprise delight at AC -  I hope he can follow it up with another good performance...  oh no, I'm cheering for more guys than podium spots

Curious to see how the 2 fresh Russian pairs match up against each other.   I think this is the biggest pairs field so far - btw, anyone else find it reckless that they'd have a discipline as dangerous as pairs at altitude in SLC when there were so many challenger competitions with no pairs competition?

I think Popova/Mozgov have that saucy lil rhythm dance to Cabaret right? I just love that they totally went for it with the costuming.
