  1. It's not that he doesn't know it, I think what he meant (maybe I didn't convey it properly) is that it's hardly justifiable. One thing he always says is: when in doubt, you judge in favour of the skater. But with Yuzuru, different standards appear and usually the most severe decisions are always the ones that are taken.
  2. https://www.facebook.com/massimiliano.ambesi/posts/1768160613346709 Max's post in English translated by me roughly: Yuzuru HANYU (103.53),for the sixth time in his career, sixth in his last six National competitions, he is first in the Short Program. The performance, considering it was his first after such a long time, was more than satisfying. It has highlighted great potential, but he will need to work on some details. In the first part, Yuzuru gave the impression he was understandibly tense and less fast than usual, but from the 3A onwards, he let himself go completely and changed rhythm. The highlight of this performance surely was the Step Sequence, perfectly on the beat, creative, fast and original. Regarding the jumps, 4S and the combination 4T3T were both a little short on the exit, were fully rotated, while the 3A was perfectly executed, yet did not receive, uncomprehensibly, unanimous +5 by the judges. The main issues were the first two spins. The flying camel wasn't the best of his career for the quality of execution, while the change sit spin got a no-level call and received 0 points. On why was this call made, it's hard to explain. Seeing the element again and again, the call could have been a Level 3. Surely, the last position seemed short and the one before a little tall. It would be interesting to know the reasons from the one who made the call. Of course, it's hard to believe that the sit-twizzles that came before the element could have been considered the spin itself, because a situation like this would open doors to a variety of dangerous, dubious calls. 3. Definitely martial arts initial pose imo. Or not. I don't know I'm so excited.
  4. DID I JUST HEAR ABOUT NEW SP NOW? YES. HELLA EXCITE.
  5. Totally support his decision, although at first I suspected that the JSF might have decided for him and was angry... but if it's his choice, then it's the best one.
  6. *peeks at the general thread pretty quickly* Well, I said Yuzuru needed romantic love way before anyone else. *scoffs* No, jk, but seriously, I do agree that love enriches an Artist's creativity and expression, I think Yuzuru always had the capability and the desire to love and be loved (and thus skated wonderful, full of love programs) but maybe now it would be a good time to take some time to actively pursue real life koi, because 25 years alone is hard. I've barely survived 20.
  7. Just asking for a friend, but my friend wonders if she´s the only one who´s very very curious about Yuzuru´s new programs for the 20-21 season. Ps: that friend might be me
  8. Omg I've been off this forum daily for such a long time. I miss skate-talking with you all but on the other hand, we're still three months away the first skate competitions, so... I miss skating! I miss following Yuzuru's competitions and everyone else's!!
  9. Hello guys! Sorry if my post will be a little off topic but since I think I won't post a lot in this span of time I wanted to reach out to as many of you as possible because I do consider you an internet family on its own 🌸 I learned yesterday that there would be no Worlds and I guess that it won't be posticipated but... it just won't happen? That's awful but I think it is very necessary for many of the skaters, staff, volunteers, spectators, everyone. I don't know about the situation in Canada, but it's pretty bad here. Honestly being forbidden to go out of your house unless for emergencies, having to keep distance with your closest ones and not being able to visit friends and families, stopping work from one day to the next (I work in a hotel so yesterday we had our last customers leave and locked everything up) really puts things into perspective so I really had no plan on coming here but I think that I wanted to let you know. Since yesterday bars, restaurants, malls, shopping streets, most everything except food shops, pharmacies and hospitals are closed. I am lucky I am not 100% alone during this 2-3 week quarantine because I weirdly got myself a boyfriend during pandemia time LOL. So I am limiting my social time to one person and that will have to be enough until April. Cool, cool. I reaaaally really missed Yuzuru and would have loved to see him skate his best skate of the season at Worlds, but this year... better off without. I have just one question, do you think Yuzuru will get a message out about all of this situation? Sorry if this got across as depressing or dark, I am actually fine and everyone I know in Rome is mostly fine. GP season feels so far away! I can't wait for all this to end.
  10. HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAH Nothing more to add to this, I guess I can't WAIT for Chopin and Seimei. Masterpieces never get old, and he always skates his programs as if they were anew. I support him in every way.
  11. I was in the 'mistake' group but... now... eh. Who the fuck knows anymore?
  12. I don't believe he can grow a beard LOL put he can try to prove me wrong
  13. I suspect "5 steps" has something to do with rotations...
  14. Omg this is enlightening. Please someone show it to everyone please??
  15. Yes, I guess we have to stick to our own opinions, since they are miles apart. In any case, I didn't expect anyone to do anything, it was an invitation open for refusal Yeah don't worry, I wasn't being so direct as I was to defend him, but because I really really believe that some accusations and some discussions like this one are a bit... over the top to be gentle. But nevermind, we can close it.
  16. Give me the dictionary definition of racist and we can talk about it some more.
  17. Then you shouldn't "use" anyone's ethnic origin to discuss... anything? Is it a taboo? Is it the fact that it's not 100% certain that makes it not right? You say it's speculation, but it might be real. And if it were real or not, there wouldn't jave been no judgement whatsoever on the athletes per se.
  18. Yes, this. Honestly, the word 'racist' is getting abused in some contexts and in some others where it is needed (Italy's suffering a lot lately for this reason) it is not spoken. How the fuck is saying that the US fed might be using Chen and Liu's Chinese descent to create a story for the Beijing Olympics racist? No, don't explain. I don't wanna hear it. This forum is mighty annoying sometimes. Can't stand the overly politically correctedness motivated by... what? The desire to see the worst in people that you don't actually know? And yes, I am biased because I respect Max as a sport expert and as a person.
  19. I can't want to hear Max roast the fucketry that was GPF this year tonight for the podcast...
  20. Me and other 5 people screamed "Happy Birthday Yuzu" right after the music stopped at the end of the victory lap - we did it two times, and I screamed so hard that my heart skipped a beat and I felt like fainting LOL - I have a sore throat today but it was worth it if he could hear it. On one side I agree, on the other one, I'd say... chill. Japanese people need to chill on all sides. It was just a cake, Yuzuru just happened to reject it because it wasn't the right mood/moment, that's literally it. If crazy people go lenghts to interpret the 'thing' then they are just crazy people, you should not give them so much space and should not think about it too much. It was a cute thought from the organizer of the event, but it wasn't the right moment, that's all. You cannot, really really cannot avoid every and any situation that might be a little awkward. I know that culturally Japanese people tend to want to do that, but it is impossible. Let people live without the fear of being judged by idiot bullshitters.
  21. Tbh Trusova isn't being praised for her non-existant artistry talent and artistic programs, everybody knows her forte is technical score and, say, Kostornaia is objectively better than her in Skating Skills, PE, Interpretation of Music. Also, Trusova does have Transitions. Maybe they are both overscored in PCS in the end, but the propaganda surrounding Trusova is not comparable with that surrounding Nathan. Nathan is Us's only male champ. Trusova is one of many many talents Russia has, they have no reason to favor her above Kosto or Anna.
