  1. I've been very emo about Javi lately. I knew the retirement talk was coming because duh, but I'll miss him so much when he finally steps back from competition. Not only has he always been one of my faves, as a fellow Spaniard it will mark the end of an era in our non-existent FS history.

...I really, really want him to get a medal in PC. More than anything, tbh :tumblr_m9gcvqToXY1qzckow:

(Sorry about the flood of feels in the middle of entertaining ice-football, I'll go cry elsewhere now)

No no, the laugh is fine, it’s the earnest voice that tells ya he’s really gonna mess you up, aka ”just” one more rotation. :13877886:

The sunshine-ness lures you into a false sense of security, and then... BAM! You ded and your hair is abandoning ship.

(Great tactics, I'll give him that)

It was sit-down-take-a-sip-casually-mention-impossible-being-possible moment actually. (ok, not really, he says it's a bit more far away, before dropping the bomb of just one more rotation...)

Me, whenever Yuzu shows us his amazing grasp of basic mathematics by counting rotations and greatly simplifying things:

As weird as it is for me to think about skating in terms of years and not seasons, looking back on 2017 it has been a wild rollercoaster. I'll never forget the feeling of watching H&L in Helsinki, squishing the life out of a couple cushions and feeling like the whole world was waiting with baited breath for that fickle 4S3T. Things have taken a turn for the worse with this #cursed first half of the season and all the injuries, but as we get into 2018, looking towards the Olympics without knowing what we might find when we get there, I'm glad we have this community to share all the emotions of the journey. May we all have a happy one and all the luck to Yuzuru in the coming year! :grouphug:

  5. Since everyone serms to be feeling pretty squishy, let me say this and add to that: I haven't been around much (mostly checking for news *still crossing fingers so he's healing okay*) because my uni workload is insane right now, but this forum has been a godsend from the beginning. I'm the type to lurk or only really interact with a small circle of people, but the atmosphere here has always felt welcoming and the debates are interesting, so I haven't regretted being active here. Good job, everyone *hugs*

As for the issue of being 'bad fans' or 'fans for the wrong reasons', I really don't give a sh*t. As long as everyone's respectful, people are allowed to enjoy a thing however they see fit, in my opinion. Don't pay attention to the naysayers: that battle is already lost from the beginning, and the people who really matter won't need lenghty explanations to understand (as a woman who enjoys football, I've been through this all my life and I'm over it. Life's simpler when you stop giving any fucks XD)

(Sorry for the rant, you all just got me on a squishy moment *runs away to the lab*)

ALL THE HUGS!!!!!!!! Time does heal all wounds - from all the reports it seems the injury will heal by the time Olys or even 4CC comes around. He can even skip Nats if he wishes in order to focus on training towards PyeongChang, and he will still likely be on the Oly team. That's the most important. I believe he can do it!!

We don't know the extent of the injury and how much time he's going to need, but I know he will come back. I'm not worried about him making the Olys team, JSF won't shoot itself in the foot by leaving out a healthy Yuzuru.

He's a fighter, he will come back strong when he does. I have always trusted that.

(Just please, please stay put and heal, Yuzuru. Listen to your body and your team. Then take everyone by storm when you're healthy again)

  7. Woke up to the news a while ago. Still processing.

I'm heartbroken. Not about medals or finals, which I know are important to him but seem silly in the face of injury; but for him and having to go through happenstance hardship once again.

I'm happy he's WD, even though I know he isn't. GPF is not worth breaking himself, especially with Olys on the horizon. I hope he doesn't get backlash from his decision: he made the right choice, even if it hurts.

I'm so very sorry for the satellites who made the trip and have had to deal not only with the hurt, but also the disappointment. Big hug to @SparkleSalad and @KatjaThera: I know it's not much from far away through an internet connection, but I'm thinking of you, too.

I'm crying, but it will pass. Time heals all wounds: he will heal, we will heal, and we'll try again together.

(Group hug, please. This GP series is officially cursed and I need the comfort.)
