  1. time for my belated opinions: Men: I hope for lots of Yuzu fancams, so kinda rooting for no NHK for Yuzu, but I know he'd be happier skating in Japan so I'm torn (but since FaOI Toyama is selfishly keeping all the footage from me, I'm gonna give priority to my wish for FANCAMS and praying for no NHK sorry Zu) I hope JSF is sensible enough to give Yuzu and Shoma different assignments. Other than Misha in COR and Nathan in Skam and Boyang in CoC I've 0 idea of where everyone will go. Kinda excited but not biting my nails, contrary to last season...(well since I already know for which comp I'll try to get tickets). tho I symphatize with all of you who are waiting to see who will go where and fight for tickets, I know the feeling Pairs: just excited about everyone, just thoping that we'll see more pairs than last season Just... curious about ID LOL Just hoping all my faves will get a nice chance at the final... Ladies: well, bloodbath for sure, and I have too many faves already so I'll be screaming in frustrations about the assignments anyway. I'm already imaging a field like NHK18 but repeated for all six GPs probably there won't be "easier" fields, there will be at least 3 ladies who have landed quads in comp + at least 2 with 3A, so some of them are already bound to meet before the final anyway.. .Likely Sasha and Anna will have different assignments, not sure if any of them would meet Rika...maybe they could, they would likely have more chances than most vs a cleanish Rika and maybe Rus fed would want to "protect" the veterans... IMO unlikely that Alina and Rika will meet, I kinda expect Rika vs Zhenya and/or Lilbet and Alina vs. Satoko and/or Kaori, like this past season. Rika will probably have less room for mistakes since her BV advantage would be likely not as big as in the past season (or not, waiting to see her full FS layout). Quadless and 3A-less ladies will have 0 room for mistakes, since even UR quads now are gonna have higher BV (and PCS will likely follow BV, in some measure) I hope Alyona K will have 2 assignments, I wans't even conceiving the idea of her getting only 1 before coming to this thread I kinda hope that she will upgrade her BV a bit, tho, I don't know how much she can count on GOE and PCS not only against skaters with quads/3A but also Alina or even clean Evgenia. Of course everything can happen, but since there will likely be multiple skaters going for high BV, not just one or two, + a number of established senior skaters, IMO a repeat of what Sofia did (getting to the final with only one Lz in the free on virtue of her consistency) will be harder... Mai...poor bb, I hope she can avoid having the worst fields all the time I suppose I should stop worrying about who can make it to the final and just enjoy each GP the announcement will happen at a nice hour for me, nice
  2. I said it already and gonna repeat: if he's changing programs, IMO the most likely route is energetic SP + more flowing FS with at least some breathing room here and there. I expect him to have the faster stsq in the SP, he usually manages to be more focused/less tired with stsq in the SP and can really go full speed there while still getting the levels (well, most of the times) At this point I'm also curious about the EX: since he's talked about KuriMemo being Mask's twin, I'm not so sure anymore he will keep it... maybe Tarasova's music is for his EX...some more Il Volo for local audience at GPF? or will he just bring Bibier back for Canadian audience at WC? or...what about Bublé? trying my hand at reverse-jinxing for the EX
  3. quoting myself because the issue solved on its own, now I can post with multiple Planet emojis from phone just fine
  4. LOL have you already seen this tweet? ok the pick the program was a couple days ago but I skipped so doing it now Haru yo koi or Semei 'cause OWG and how royal he looked in that program Otonal or Origin ahhhhh can't choose can't choose (ok maybe but just maybe Origin? Or not...it really depends on what I've watched last and it was WC19 Origin so good) hope and legacy or requiem of heaven and earth because I love pain and Requiem breaks my heart crystal memories or Masquerade because I've missed the fire in his EX programs (tho tbh the quiet parts of Masquerade are those I love the most...and they break my heart so you can see a pattern here) Phantom of the Opera/Otonal HyK/Origin ahhhhhhh again can't choose....ok maybe Origin again because I watched it recently (basically the only other Yuzu program I've watched these past few weeks other than all FaOI2019 stuff) Notte Stellata/Requiem Even if I love pain, most of the times I must ot choose between Swan and Requiem, Swan wins. Especially the OWG one Masquerade/LGC ahhhhhh that's tough, too... maybe LGC...but I love the darkness in Masquerade....ahhhhh can't choose Chopin/R&J sorry I love passionate young Romeo but Chopin is my true love... x 3 CM/Change!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! sorry KuriMemo I love you too but I have appointed myself as part of the Change defence squad Seimei/H&l tho weird enough I watch H&L much more I'm confused PW/Etude my love tho PW made me a fan so.... I'd probably pic different programs according to my mood tbh costumes: Notte Stellata/LGC tough choice but I specifically bought a magazine for the gorgeous Swanyu cover, so... Origin/H&L look I love everythig of H&L except for the ruffle tho it looks nice in motion.. HyK/Seimei(2) the costume fitting to The GOAT in PyeongChang Chopin/Origin because Chopin 1.0 is sooooo good (sheer sleeves I love you!) R&J/PW RJ1> both PW >RJ2 Etude/Notte Stellata I love swanyu but the swirly swirly Etude is just slightly ahead also, Blue Flame Otonal/POTO(2) tho I love the back of Otonal more. POTO1 was gorgeous but it's just hard to visualize how it was before the collision Masquerade/CM KuriMemo don't get sad! btw I absolutely love the sleeves of both costumes WAIT for the bad costumes am I supposed to pick the worse or the slightly more acceptable one? I'm going for the more acceptable: Dory/boobskirt maybe I dislike the huge gems more than the actual boobskirt Dory/bowling shirts idk, I can't decide without Yuzu in the bowling shirt, but maybe...just maybe...the bowling shirt is better LOL Bowling shirts/fishnet a combo of "not boring" + "worn by Yuzuru it doesn't look that bad" black bibs/bowling just becuase Prince Oreo Yuzu makes it work, otherwise it's likely gonna be the bowling shirt... fishnet/dory better the floral mess than the yellow cape tbh btw re: adding signature if you still need the info:
  5. please don't feel bad for sharing it, just be aware that T*L has quite a bad rep for how they have talked about some skaters, some guests they have&their really awful comments, and in general for them liking to use Yuzu to get views but then rarely saying anything positive about him (they are among those who are annoyingly fixed on pointed toes... and they can't recognize transitions different than a SE anyway....just like the judges, but that's another issue) so if you're going to quote them again in the future, just put a warning about the source so everyone can choose if it's worth it to give them views *looks at her nor-Swiss-nor-Belgian chocolate bars guiltly* *wants to cite the slogan of a famous italian brand of chocolate in her defense* *fears making enemies with both Swiss and Belgian choco stans* *quietly stays in her corner happily munching on her nor-Swiss-nor-Belgian choco* now, that is a real crime! surprised about Masquerade being by Shae, though... yeah, of course she could make something to make everyone lose their minds I thought maybe Yuzu had started choreo before coming to Japan but he said he had choreo on vid...wow (also, if he chose to ask Shae instead of Jeff who was there it likely was because she had done the choreo for POTO, so maybe it felt like resuming a chat instead of starting a new one with Jeff) ok, looking forward to the changes but....WHERE'S THE FOOTAGE WE ALL DESERVE???? I wanna see the changes too! Please we need Masquerade from Sendai and everything from Kobe and now Toyama... since the start I've felt Masquerade and CM KuriMemo (subtly pushing for that new nick for Crystal Memories) as two sides of a coin. So if Masquerade won't be the official EX but CM KuriMemo will, ngl, I'll be a bit sad to see it without the other half of the coin, I think both are even better when watched one after the other...but since Yuzuru is skating to CM KuriMemo much less, I guess there are some chances it's the offical EX...maybe? anyway, again, ngl, I hope we'll get at least one more new program for the season. I basically have no preferences between Otonal and Origin, love both, I can see pros and cons for keeping either of them (or even both ehi I wouldn't mind if sakura fairy made a come back too) this whole post is a MOOD x 4 so very well put could be also because left ankle is needed for the counter entry? (please Yuzu take care). on the other side, the consistency on the 4T is great (watch me jinx it please skating gods NO) also, it's because Yuzuru has repeatedly said that he wants to protect us fans that I wish the fandom could never ever be a source of unhappiness/sadness for him. We can't avoid people attacking him and things like injuries happening, and we can't avoid being sad when he's sad and making him sad because we're sad... but we can leave him and his family alone and make him feel safe, and we can avoid jumping at other people's throats about small things (since he'd be hurt x 3: 1st, because it's a behaviour he doesn't approve, 2nd because he might blame himself since "they meant to protect me", and 3rd because it will ALSO foster haters). We can try to be kind with each other and others (other skaters included), be willing to listen and when criticizing do so calmly, not turning it a battle at who screams louder... (tho I do enjoy some good sarcasm, at times it's more satysfying than any screaming)
  6. over a month is a lot of time for testing things out in one camp when you are supposed to try other camps too and then make a choice and then move to the place you've chosen and then prepare to leave again to get choreo by mid-August...or has he already tried the other camps? btw this IMO suggests Eteri is by far the option n°1 (again, I'm mostly sad that the chances for fancams are getting slimmer by the minute...)
  7. @airi I just wanted to let you know the tiny but funny misspell in your post about coaches made me imagine the weirdest but most entertaining scenes I'm cackling again but also nooooooo I need those Yuzu COR fancams ok I chuckled but it's also... a bit mean but also true but also mean well, anyway, with Eteri I expect him to work mostly on increasing efficiency. Since Shoma has been trying "4Lz" before olympic season iiirc (there was also the blurry footage), edge aside, he's likely aready there in terms of the rotations needed to get the jump validated (it's not like tech panels usually have such high standards anyway), so it isn't a matter of if but of when since he was going crazy in WTT, I think he'd work on bringing at least one new jump regardless of where he trains tbh
  8. I think that being countrymen would add to the tension actually. For example, if Boyang or Kevin Aymoz or Daniel Grassrl went to TCC the change in dynamics wouldn't worry me that much at the same time, if Kazuki or Sota went to TCC the dynamics wouldn't worry me that much, either.... but Shoma... Yuzuru wants Shoma to be successful, but maybe he'd prefer him to train for that success somewhere else If I think how it would have been if Shoma had been in place of Javi before PyeongChang, no matter how nice the people involved are, and how brotherly Yuzu acts towards Shoma, I just can't imagine that things would have gone well. I do believe it wasn't just Javi being extremely nice that made things work in the Yuzu-Javi comradership, there was also Yuzu giving his own contribute, but tbh if you think about what some sides of jpn media have said to bring Yuzu down while propping his rival whenever possible, I don't think Yuzuru and/or his team would be as trusting towards the team of said rival (even despite said rival not having asked for that kind of propping up). well, TCC has already Junhwan + Jason other than Yuzu, and at least those two are aiming for 2022 for sure, so adding another top skater wouldn't be only about Yuzuru. But if TCC really is among possibilities, I would expect them to be super extra careful especially because we're talking about the other Jpn top skater. well, I'm still sad no Eteri but since I hope Yuzu will go to Rostelecom because I NEED fancams (yes I'm greedy and anyway NHK is cursed too) Shoma not moving to Russia and not moving to Canada might help my wishes more... yeah I'm rooting for SC too even if it means usual underscoring, I just want FANCAMS ok? Skate Canada already seem to love Shoma, if he moves there no way they'll let me have my Yuzu fancams
  9. This is...NOT what I was expecting 😆 unexpectedly "tame" choice, and he has already worked with both noooo no Daniil I'm disappointed😅it also means 99,9% no Eteri sob LOL sob and suddenly I have...half a fear... But SLB is IMO a good choice for him, I have my reservation on DW and a whole free skate (IB in the chsq incoming?🤔) August for choreo is IMO a bit late, especially since it's afaik not his habit...if he has already decided for choreographers IMO it would have been better to just go, have choreo roughly done and then go for those training camps (tho I hope he will have the new coach soon, things like paperwork and lodgings need to be settled too, for Shoma and whoever is going with him) Also...no recylcing uh😅 but keeping one program, since he's not gonna get choreo till August, at this point would have been understandable (I guess a new coach wouldn't like to work on the choreo from another?) ETA: also the choice of two NA choreographers makes a move to Russia very unlikely IMO, JackG stirred things for nothing... At this point it is also unlikely Stephane is in the mix (it would have been easier to get choreo from him directly, especially so late), I guess USA or Canada and maybe some other European coach (tho I don't see why he would be going to a less reknown coach) or somewhere in Japan are more likely...
  10. I wanted to add (since I forgot) that someone like Eteri would avoid layouts wasting points and dubious strategic choices like doing 4T 4T2T without using the bonus (iirc Shoma lost quite a few points with +rep, at least some of those +rep could have been avoided) Btw I would still be surprised if the move to Eteri turned out to be more than a wild guess and funny speculation, since she's already going to have her hands full with 3 ladies debuting as seniors + 2 more senior ladies + new jr ladies and Samsonov too (is Artur Danielan with Eteri?) + Morisi...(and what is Erokhov doing? Is he still there too? ETA: his wiki lists Eteri as coach)
  11. I think I'm gonna feel disappointed if it isn't Eteri in the end LOL I think I like the idea because it's both crazy and not so crazy (and it's the options that I like more exaclty because of that) also, that's why I'm here enjoying the drama while everyone is losing their mind over the idea c'mon it's not that bad! in all of this, no news about Wakaba? yeah I still dream she'll go to TCC one day sigh I hope whatever team she has will make all that huge potential shine...(and hopefully no more injuries) ETA: @hoodie axel idk how properly Eteri can deal with Shoma's issues, but she has had injured skaters that (even for a short time) came back to form (or at least to get some results). What we know it's that her training isn't sustainable for long, but it's also effective. it looks like the recovery went relatively well for Anna and it looks things somehow got better for Alina too. She also had Lilbet get a quad and good results after she had been injured too (iirc she had some back injury?). It also looks like Eteri was the one who wanted Alyona not to go back jumping soon. of course we don't know how long all of this will last, or how much the skaters will regret pushing their bodies, but for now Anna and Alina and Lilbet had very good results (not saying everything needs to be sacrificed for goods results, but the parents should worry about their children's long term health, too, we can't only blame the coaches) now, Shoma: if I were Shoma and were aiming to 2022 I'd probably try to preserve my health first and foremost, but also, he wants to keep his relevance (IMO internal ranking might not be a huge issue atm, but internationally there's Vincent breathing on his neck an dhe has beaten him twice on home ice) so he can't just take it easy till then, he must take a calculated risk and keep getting good results. It's true Shoma is older, and that he has had injuries, but afaik he had somehow recovered by WC and WTT. The mistake in the WC SP seem more mental than anything (he was solid in training before that) and in WTT he was attepting 3A4T, he might have been kuyashii-driven but I don't think he's dumb (plus afaik he was fine and jumping in SOI right after that). Yes it's likely he'll be more easily injured in the future, but we don't know how many hours of training he needs to cut down, and what he needs to change in his training, nor if he has already changed something. That's on him and his team to found out. And if he thinks "yes, I can do a gazillion ruthrough just fine" and "yes, I can just keep jumping like this, even if it means I'll need my superhuman-ankle save" then it's his choice and a calculated risk. and speaking of consistency...tbh I don't know the numbers exactly, but last season Shoma wasn't being that clean either. I wasn't following him in 2016-17, but iirc wasn't that much more consistent than the other skaters even then...what hurt him the most this season were the 4S (that he might as well drop without regrets if he gets another quad), more UR calls in the first half of the season and his recurring issues with the SP (at least in part mental). So even if maybe it is true Shoma was overall less consistent, I'm not sure how much of that lack of consistency is due to his body starting to feel the consequences of his technique or just some mental block. Someone like Eteri could worsen his body condition, but could work well for his mentality. And IMO he would fit well in the environment (how Eteri works, how he works, what Eteri expects from skaters, what Shoma wants from a coach). Not huge clash of personality So yes, I think it could be a productive partnership, possibly better than some others. For example, I think the chances of getting more consistent/get new jumps under Raf would be lower, and there wouldn't be a big change in choreo (maybe there wouldn't be under Eteri, but it would make me more hopeful)
  12. I had missed the news, but nice to know I hope he can get at least a stable quad, it would be a pity if all US skaters with nice SS were to be always overshadowed by the quadsters... in hindsight, all of this is even funnier I mean, a few weeks ago no one would have taken any of this seriously... let's hope Hamada can drill a bit of Satoko's SS and refinement in Vincent (I'd be genuinely happy, it would be better for my blood pressure, i wouldn't internally scream everytime I read protocols) tbh Shoma's move to ----place still to be decided---- (I believe he's already a pretty good idea of where he's going) was a big surprise but IMO still not on the levels we had last season (probably the only thing that would surprise me more than last season would be Yuzu going to Eteri, since there would be a major clash of personalities tbh Yuzu leaving TCC wouldn't surprise me much, it's bound to happen sooner or later, just Yuzu going to Eteri would shock me LOL) Ok, when weeks ago Shoma's name had been mentioned together with Eteri's at first I was "wtf are people smoking these days?" but now (and after some pondering) it would be probably be the most interesting outcome (and the funniest too) much more than Shoma e.g. joining the now overcrowded Raf Shoma has some traits that would work well with Eteri: he's extremely hardworking, he likes doing a billions comps and he trains many many hours on ice (I think he has talked about drilling many RTs in the past, and also about how doing many comps made him feel more calm/confident). These are pillars of Eteri's team training. Of course with his recent ankle issues I hope he's also going to take care a bit more and reduce work load (I don't think Eteri would necessarily push him too much, from some interviews it looks like sometimes she's the one forcing skaters to slow down, but if that move really happens I hope they will take into account that while still young Shoma has already several years of high intensity training in his bones and ligaments) Another relevant thing that IMO makes Shoma quite compatible with Eteri's team philosophy is that he doesn't seem to mind having someone else doing most of the planning for him. As for jumps, he's always been more of a fast rotator than a huge jumper and his jump technique is one I think Eteri's team can work with. I could see him working with that team to bring a 4"Lz" of the type tech panels and judges seem to like just fine... I'd be mostly curious about the choreo. For how much I dread DaniilG's music cuts it would be interesting to see Shoma doing something very different from his usual programs Didn't he say he couldn't reveal his SP(?) yet, but the reason for his secrecy would be clear when he would reveal it? Maybe he would have listen Daniil as his choreographer (or we would have seen a billions TR and a blink-and-you'll-miss-it IB into besti into something else with crazy music cut and would have guessed...) anyway, if it happens I'm excited the change of choreographer for his SP and FS is the biggest reason why I'm HAPPY he's changing coaches, despite of how good his team was for him on a personal level (Miyoko feels someone who's good to have around to smile and calm down before a comp and to cheer you after). tbh I thought he would just have different choreographer and merely do more training camps while keeping his old team as main coaches, but if finishing off podium at WC finally gave him the push he needed to change things, good for him (I don't think he's gonna work to radically change his technique, IMO the focus will be more on consistency/new quads and combos. It's not like scoring is going to make a difference anyway: as long as he'll land those jumps everything will come, so that would be really the smartest thing to do, no matter what I'd wish to see instead) Anyway Shoma is already a very experienced senior skater and an adult and he should be fine financially too (Toyota is a big sponsor after all) so his coaching change doesn't make me as worried as others. Language could be an issue of course, but he's dealt with it already (and with living in a foreign country) several times, even if only for a few weeks (now it's gonna be whole months). It's not like he has 0 experience. From what I know about him, he's probably going to be a hermit anyway LOL ngl I thought along those lines too... but there might still be some big changes e.g. in seasons and climate, and even things like avaliability of the food he's used to. Still, tho, I think the biggest change will be the one at the rink and the training environment itself: there he can't be a hermit, he'll need to speak to the coaches at least. But since he managed it already in US, I don't see why he wouldn't manage it another country too @eagle since you seem to know more about Shoma's team, do you know if Shoma's brother ever goes with him abroad? afaik they're pretty close and he often appears in tv with him/talking about him (I think he also wrote the biography?) but I guess he has his own life and studies in Japan. Do you know if any of his relatives went with him when he had his training camps abroad? I have no idea how self-sufficient Shoma is in daily-life stuff like making the laudry and cooking, having someone familiar to oversee all the non-training daily activities would make things better, I think (breaking news: Keiji is going with Shoma and will take care of everything LOL I'm jk)
  13. hello just wanted to ask if anyone else has had the Planet freezing when when posting on mobile, and in particularly when using Planet emojis well it isn't really a big issue, I can survive using the phone emojis instead of the yuzumoticons kinda but anyway, it was annoying during faoi livestream, whenever I clicked on the wrong emoji icon by mistake (the one of the Planet tab instead of the one of the keyboard) I got stuck so here are the details (I know they are messy but honestly it's because it's a very weird thing): I can write and add one Planet emoji just fine, everything as usual. But whenever I try to add a 2nd Planet emoji to my draft, the page would get like completely stuck, it doesn't let me add the emoji and it doesn't make me go back, or scroll or even refresh the page. If I wait then it kinda refreshes on its own. Actually it doesn't really loads the page directly, it just shows me a blank page for a while and then after a while it allows me to refresh again and it finally loads the page. But it takes so much time I just prefer to close the page entirely and open the Planet in a new one. And even then, I need to wait a few seconds for the app to start working again (it looks like at the beginning it just freezes the whole app period, not only the Planet page) (luckily till now it has always saved the drafts exactly where I had left it, before the emoji LOL) it's happened during FaOI livrstream but tbh I had noticed something like that before that too but with the livestream I could finally detect a pattern. Since I hadn't been posting for a(few?) week(s?) idk when it started exactly. Well in the past it has happened that the page froze and I had to close it and open a new one, but it has never happened like this and with this regularity and also, why everything works as usual for the first emoji but with the second emoji it gets fussy? Since I've always used phone to comment all livestreams, I'm positive this wasn't happening e.g. during WC (btw I use chome app. Well, if no one else had this super-weird issue, I'm gonna try with another app...)
  14. That's not true Yeah Masquerade (program, look, attitude) is addictive. On the other side, DW did the choreo for CM si that could mean it's the ex..but we'll be able to have a better guess after Kobe @rockstaryuzu the issue isn't really that jpn lyrics or songs aren't 'acceptable' (tho it's always better to treat judges as narrow-minded people who enjoy what they already know), more that afaik Yuzu has never skated on japanese lyrics outside of Japan. He's attentive like that. His version of HYK was a piano adaptation without lyrics so it didn't matter. For TFTT he used the English lyrics, and he only skated Hana wa Saku and Hana ni Nare at NHK and Nats, but used different ex for his other competitions. (I can't recall if as a junior he ever did Change tho) Well, tbh there are some of the songs Yuzu likes that are just "not my genre". I am willing to give a try to everything he skates to, but not all people are and sometimes willingness isn't enough for example I still don't like Chemistry (I'm liking ToshI a lot instead) so I was relieved when he did HYK. And it's likely some people are even more conservative and just don't like what sounds "different" (so that would be especially bad for a SP or FP). So I understand Yuzu being "attentive". At the same time, I want him to skate to whatever he wants, at least for EX, so I hope he won't be as attentive in the future😅
  15. *pokes her head in* *wonders why there are arguments going on when there are Masquerade and Crystal memories to talk about* lol @makebelieveup as I've told you already, are you me? You posted while I was writing Anyway as I said in the Faoi thread, I'd love for him to keep both as EX. Tbh idk how Masquerade could be adapted into SP (what's the duration to begin with?), the focus on 2 more jumps + spin levels and stsq levels would IMO take away part of the rawness of the piece (and without glove the glove throwing would look like some Averbuck thing 👻). But I'd still like something darker (or upbeat) for SP and hey, he could use some of the elements (twirly twirly arms plz..low twizzles too plz still missing them). Tbh unless Yuzuru doesn't stop caring about making the lyrics understandable to most international audience, I can't see how he'll ever skate to Masquerade outside FaOI (Yuzu please we DON'T MIND and there's google anyway)...or, you know, he could go to nhk, be healthy and skate it at the gala for unbelievers to see the light😆 From this pov I see more chances for CM (tho I can already hear the complaints about "always the same yadda yadda yadda"). It depends on the image he wants to project (judges seem to prefer a different style atm) and if he cares about that image at all (if he doesn't then he'll decides based only on what those programs mean to him) But since we don't even know if he'll do more EX during FaOI, we're stuck in the "I wish" land. It's a beautiful land, let's enjoy while it lasts (before he decides he misses the yellow cape, after all 😜sorry Zu you know I love you and I kinda like Dory too, right?🥰 kinda, but I vastly prefer Masquerade and crystal fairy)

  17. Marin: I hated the LLL news, but yeah, I think she could make it work even for me And I liked her Seven Nation SP (I loved the costume) so I'm fine with her keeping it. Sad to see her FS go tho Sasha T: OMG love the choice for her FS! (tho, weird enough, I see her more like an Arya than a Daenerys) Wakababy: I think I'm gonna love both SP and FS Wakaba and Poeta, I can already feel the epicness Also...will Sia be the new warhorse? (well, luckily it looks like skaters are picking different songs...) One GOAT set the example! (kidding... and Yuzu, you're free NOT to be environmentally friendly next season)
  18. thank you @Veveco and everyone who helped set up everything I've done the poll but I'll take a bit more time for the form ('cause as always I'm writing wall-texts, so I need to do some serious cutting LOL) ahhhh choosing top 3 fave costumes and programs is always painful I feel bad for leaving out some of themI love you Swanyu bb, I'm so sorry that I couldn't pick you too btw, I was thinking that these days not many satellites seem to be online (since no competitions or iceshows with Yuzu), I hope everyone can see the thread, is there a way to have some kind of link in the homepage so everyone can see it? @sallycinnamon @Hydroblade (sorry you're the staff I see online atm)
  19. argh I have almost missed the anniversary HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE PLANET! may all of us keep having fun and being just as extra as our fave space kitten for a long long time! thank you, mods and admins, for keeping this place nice and cozy, and thank you to all satellites for making this place special and warm and a little bit crazy also, how nice that on this day we also had the monument unveiling all according to the plan? glad to know I wasn't the only one hey, that ticket popping up with fierce!Zu in that pose would suit the music amazingly (I had never thought gates opening could look that epic!) Me, me!!! should I add it to our Planet glossary? hopefully there will be many more cycles of happiness!!! (and less cycles of ranting)
  20. Tbh it's unclear to me if he means "cleanly by ISU standard" "with quality I deem worthy" or just "land it in competition"... Maybe more translations and input from satellites who speak japanese can give us more insights I find the final bit interesting, it sounds to me as: he will bring Nessie to comp, that's what he's aiming to, and he hopes to be the first one to get it ratified...but regardless, he wants that jump...I suppose he knows about those wtt attempts😅 guys I'm laughing at my autocorrect changing wtt in wtf can't say it's wrong tbh I'm impressed at him being so aware of many things happening in the world - France, Taiwan...Yes those are big news reported internationally, but it feels like those news weren't just "something happening somewhere to someone else", he has linked them to his own experience and Tohoku and focused on the efforts to help and rebuild
  21. Wow I'm on podium congrats to gold and bronze! And it looks like I've jinxed skaters again Those were nice surprised tho Thank you @Old Cat Lady for the game! I had fun running my calculations (and feeling smug when I got them right)😤
  22. RE: Tarakanova Sad that the split happened like this - and why can't the supposed adult behave professionally? Plushenko sounds like the only one throwing a tantrum... Well, Nastya's reply makes me admire her even more. Respectful but not cowed. I hope she can find a suitable training environment... after jr Nats she probably felt very disappointed in herself, and after Plushenko's comment I was very very worried, but now I'm hopeful, in her message it sounds like she isn't giving up at all, she still wants to keep going and as a fan it makes me selfishly happy Crossing everything for her Me too
  23. It's only sad that both F and Lz add burden to his right ankle, so, while those would offer a competitive advantage, he has that big limitation too, additional risks skaters with more healthy ankles don't have atm. Predictions: Since I'm greedy, I'd like if Yuzu had a new set of programs, so gonna say: SP upbeat with fast stsq that will make me wonder once more "how on earth he doesn't trip?". I may or may not be rooting for a tango or spanish guitars or full rockstar mode FS some soundtrack, with some big moments for jumps but many breathing moments (more than in Origin, so he has energy for the jumps and for getting those level 4) and a dramatic crescendo towards the end. Ideally I'd like to see jumps more distributed like H&L with chsq or another spin to separate jumps. Maybe he could go for SE in his chsq, since judges like them (and his SE are beautiful), a stag leap or sit twizzles, 'cause I like themand IB into final jump like he planned to do with first Origin layout. You know, the funny thing is that Yuzu was doing exactly what many seem to wish - use his signature IB and hydroblade as transitions, add new things like leaps and sit twizzles and new spins, have a different chsq -- but ACI was what it was, and I'm not only talking about zen!Yuzu saying bye bye, but in general other people and judges not being impressed --. So tbh while I wish for those changes idk if it would make things better for him from a scoring point. (Also, I still count Origin chsq as starting at least from after 3F3T, because there's virtually no break there and the combo is a transition...And no one will persuade me to change idea) Idk if we can expect long spirals from Yuzu, long SE/besti squats are IMO more likely. I'd like to see him end his program with stsq once, instead of a spin (actually, a tango or rock sp would be perfect for that...) Back to predictions: At least one program will have japanese music. Taiko drums would be lovely, or more japanese composers, or it could be that he keeps HYK
  24. I like this idea, since there were so many skaters who meant a lot in Yuzuru's skating journey Though maybe it would be hard to watch the whole event... Also, ngl, I'd also like to also watch Yuzuru skate...it could be a theme, pick one Yuzuru program to watch after one group...something linked to that group...tho I guess it would be hard to find links outside the obvious Plushenko&Weir +Jeff. For example, which program could we associate with Stephane? For Shizuka maybe something like group choreo for charity event/special. For Carolina there's that brief duet at least season FaOI(Or maybe Bolero...yeah, I know it was different piece, but title is the same and both in black costumes ). Or maybe it could be something fitting the mood or the qualities of this or that skater in a group? Ok, nevermind, it would be quite hard
  25. why not Sochi ladies? As I viewer, I enjoyed that more than Turin...also, the iconic Rach 2 and clean Bolero
