  1. So there is fan's outrage in twitter?? I am browsing through yuzuru hanyu tag there, all of them are talking about the unfair judging, calling out for ISU to have accountability for judging? And rockerskating even post about the low score for skating skill that judges give to hanyu. Personally, i think it is better for fans to stay quite and let yuzu's team take care of it. fans interference in sport competition can be problematic, unless, there are repeated and blatant incidents which can be used to accuse judges for systematically trying to downgrade yuzu. In my experience, it is never a good thing when fandom starts taking things on their own hand though. It is okay to vent frustration on twitter, but I don't think it will end up good if we do campaign or such. Idk, I guess such campaign can help newer fans to realize there is a problem in judging, but, related to the institution itself there is more possibility that it will endanger Yuzu's standing... there might be some claims about how difficult it is to judge Yuzu when fans are so protective etc.
  2. For me, they chit chat so much about unimportant things and bitching about this and that and like very small percentage of that is beneficial discussion abt figure skating. Time wasted.
  3. Well, factor in the injuries and whether it has lasting damage which might cause him to have to change his landing technique.
  4. How do yall handle listening to TSL? I can only listen to them for like 30 sec before I totally lost interest. Anyway, I think that the old Origin costume is more epic. But, my friend, who I just introduced to Hanyu said that it looks like a galaxy. So I... look at it with a new lens.. And... I was thinking.... Thanos? Of Marvel Cinematic Universe? Like.. what if... in MCU.... Thanos looks like Yuzuru Hanyu.....
  5. Based on my experience, and people that I know, there are those people who just enjoy being alone. I am a homebody myself, and I don't find the need to hang out etc. Sometimes we lament about young man who plays around too much, who does not have a dream/vision in his life, who drifts through life without any contribution to the society. And now we have this young man who can become a role model and we lament about his life too. From the nuances of his interview, I feel that he definitely does not feel that he suffers. Since childhood, he is convinced that his happiness comes from skating and from his family, and it is enough for him. Rather than internally feeling lonely or isolation, it is people's reaction about his choices which will make him second guessing himself. He thinks that people see him as pitiful. I definitely feel that, when people come to me and criticizing why I dont go out etc., I will start to think, am I a weirdo? Am I strange? Should I feel loneliness or isolation? Maybe I am behaving like a monk, even though I definitely do not feel it myself. For me, what I am doing is normal (I am the kind of person who is capable on not going outside for days at a time, and don't bother to meet up with other people). That is not to say he or other like him do not maintain online communication. I personally think it is his life choice, and it will be great if people can respect that. I am sure that in his mind, he already has a timeline, that he is going to focus on this, on competing and figure skating until he r-word, and he will sacrifice things that other people think as happiness. And see? The expression that he give during PC's Seimei, that is pure unadulterated happiness that you rarely can find on young people even when they do this so call relaxing and enjoying life. Moreover, from his social interaction, I definitely don't see him as awkward, instead he is very well adjusted and it shows that his social life does not suffer from this. It won't be that long, at least until he is in his 30s, fans might see him go out more etc. etc though I doubt it. So many people say that we have to have fun and enjoy and relax while we are still young, but esp. for athletes and esp. for figure skaters, youth is that period that one should take complete advantage of. And it is absolutely okay to choose that. And I think we have to respect that he wants to optimize his opportunity.
  6. While I am angry about the downplay of Yuzu's achievement, and the tendencies for certain media to make as if Yuzu's days are over (while skipping the part where he has been competing in painkillers while in rehabilitation in OWG 2018 and World 2019). H/e in many ways I also feel giddy of that? It is funny how they make Yuzu into an underdog. It is like they don't know that such things will not make him down, but instead fires up because he is a phoenix! Look at his history. It is always about rising from the ashes. I am going to send positive energy to him so God help him maintain good mental and physical condition as long as he needed. It is his hope to win definitively, and I will tsupport him in achieving the win that cannot be argued against.
  7. Definitely, definitely frustrating result esp the PCS. I trust Yuzu to tweak his program to the max gradually. I am convinced he will not scrap it now, because he knows that Origin has it, Origin has been scored better PCS. So he will be frustrated but also curious of why? And as per his usual attitude, he will stubbornly go on. Btw, Yuzuru is the best in trash talking himself..
  8. Imo, I like Otonal 2.0 better already. It is more fluid.. less empty feelling choreography. And based on exp., Yuzu' recycled program never backfire.
  9. So he practice 5S and got ankle sprain in May... in order to improve his 4A? What kind of madman?
  10. It seems his 3A has become more and more perfect. Highest mean raw GOE of all jumping pass. So more than about tribute, it seems he wants to inprove his technique without having to memorize new choreo new timing etc. Btw, at this moment, Otonal 1.0 costume appeal to me more. But I ask my families and they prefer the Otonal 2.0 costume because it is more masculine.
  11. I could tell y'all that! He needs that quintuple rotation to optimize the air time for quadruple axel so he can land it perfectly!
  12. It is amazing. He does not lose determination and motivation to compete year after year even when things seem impossible. For 10 years, 5 years of which he is not in the top physical condition for half a year. And he does not even think to take a break.
  13. Well, I don't know with anyone else..... But Yuzuru certainly have: 1. Parisienne Walkways and Chopin Ballad for SP 2. Seimei and H&L for LP 3. Even his exhibition programs, most notably Notte Stellata, Requiem, Haru Yo Koi --> they are all masterpieces. I am convinced that all of those are programs of a lifetime and will forever be associated with him. These programs are perfection: layout, difficulty, quality, interpretation, and definitely execution. Distinctive choreographic movements too, that when somebody else use similar choreography, you can definitely note his signatures there. At the very least in his generation (which arguably starts the day he enter the senior race) you will find no one that can be on par with this achievement. I agree that it is exciting to have new programs every season, but there is no point if a skater cannot churn the best performance from those programs.
  14. I guess he must be feeling kuyashii because both programs have not been performed to the fullest. There are empty moments in Otonal, and as @Henni147 stated Yuzu is not happy about it. Personally, when I compare it to Chopin Ballade, even though it is also beautiful, Otonal feels a little bit stiff and empty, and I keep thinking that he should add this and that in that choreo, and it makes me grit my teeth sometimes. But I also think since it is already a WR performance, isn't it better to move on? With other skaters, one would dread recycling program that is already a world record. But... we know a skater who can break his own record multiple times. And when taking about judge scrutiny, what judges see nowadays is TES, right? It shows his drive to win the competition. At this point, there is no sense in talking about how much time left for Yuzuru as figure skaters. Even if the injuries and illnesses he got every year like a clockwork is worrying, there are so many skaters that is still competing in their late 20s even with bolts inside their body. Barring a very very horrible injury, I think Yuzuru is going to stay as long as he can. And talking about life, well, YOLO. As long as he is still alive, let's be optimistic about it.
  15. Oh okay. It is as we expected (thought not really as I personally hoped) I think.
  16. Everyday I praise God for such a beautiful creation
  17. It is kinda subconscious thing, and judges need to judge, so they will subconsciously compare it to something that they already know as a point of reference. And I am sure that is how PCS for warhorses program are judged, "is it better or worse compare to this or that legendary program? how much worse? how much better?". There will always be a benchmark. And yes, for Origin, it needs to be a perfection to get full score. It needs to be clean, and maybe a 4A to reach that God-like effect Shae wanted. But eh, we must remember that both Otonal and Origin are initially programs that Yuzu wanted because he want to perform it, not because he thought he can definitely win with it. Of course, it is before he realized that more than anything else, he wants to be the absolute champion..
  18. It is as if he needs to be beyond humane to get high PCS.
  19. Well, I agree that there can be some improvement done to Otonal, but it is already a World Record performance (unbroken). In a sense that for now, I hope he lets Otonal be, since it is a tribute program. It is already as good as it needs to be IMO. I dunno, it is up to him in the end, but strategically speaking, it is better to create a legendary signature performance that is purely his. Something that someone else can make a tribute of. What kind of foot twisting skating program will Rasputin be?
  20. From judge POV especially, since they are people who have been watching figure skating for a long time too, and following the history too, they will compare it especially to Plushenko's, which everyone know is a legendary performance. And choreography matching the music is just one step, to be able to influence the judges, the choreography needs to have something, a kind of confidence and inner energy. And it must be supported by good stamina and health to perform well. If Yuzu wants to win with Origin, what he needs to convince is the judges, and knowing the judges, he must make it so, that the judges will not have any reason not to give all to him. Don't forget, that some of Yuzu's perfect 3As and quad jumps got very low GOE just because, so as unfortunate as the situation is, the big jump won't be enough for him. He will always be put on a different standard by the judges.
  21. OT. On the eve of ACI, and assuming Yuzuru will recycle Origin, I honestly think that the only thing which will help Origin interpretation score is a squeaky clean perfect skate, and Yuzuru calling the inner power of the universe to be projected to the judges and the rest of audience. Here is the problem. Without understanding the background of Shae-lynn's choreography, it is difficult to get into it. Especially since it will be compared to Plushenko's Nijinsky which is a legendary performance (and no matter what we hope, comparison cannot be avoided). Now, understanding the concept of Origin, creates a new expectation of the performance, because it is supposed to represent a God-like creature. And what would you expect of something God-like? Won't it be perfection? Something powerful? Quadruple Axel (lol)? IF, Yuzuru recycle Origin, I don't know what kind of mindset he will have now. Reflecting 2018, he started his season very well and in a very good mindset. His programs were developing with each competition, but the injury was such such such a setback. His body language during World 2019, for me, was not good, I felt he lost steams during World 2019. Lots of it relates to competition stamina, he just did not have that at that time: unlike Seimei, he has not develop Origin to perfection, and his body was just not used to performing it, so the situation can't be compared to Olympic. Nevertheless, I still feel that Yuzuru can do it, a great Origin program.. Anyway, I really hope he is coming to the new season with a better health and mindset. Otonal? Yuzuru has perfected it in Rostelecom 2018 , so hopefully, there will be new SP this season.
  22. God is fair. That Yuzu would dominate the sport for decades and none shall ever appear from under his shadow.
  23. If he can reach 4A level like he reach 3A, he does not need the 4F or 4Lz. But I thought, it is his priority jump since he said that Axel is his favorite jump, and it has the highest score overall. If I am not mistaken, he has been practicing 4A since 2017? But it seemed at that time he could not reach the 4.5 rotation. Cmiiw, but the conversation at that time, that the coaching team and him decided to pause the 4A training to polish on what he already have: 4Lz, so they can prepare the best olympic perf. Then he got into that training accident.
  24. Why does ACI seem so far awayyyyyyy. But, I don't think we should expect 4A as soon as ACI... but, ACI seems like the perfect place to try it out in competition!
