  1. OMG poor kid if that was the case lol
  2. I know some people don't like the repeat of tributes to other skaters.... but is Origin and Otonal really that much of a a tribute to Johnny and Plushenko? Yuzu mentioned where he got the program idea and music from, but that is about all he really said. If anything, and this may sound a bit narcissistic, the two programs appears more like a tribute to, or 'best of' Yuzu himself if you actually go back to his discussions about the program concepts with Jeff and SLB. In his most recent talk with Jeff in the pamphlet of FaOI about Otonal, he did not even mention Johnny' once. The program starts with him opening a book and walking down the road of memories - so if anything it is a program's about Yuzu's journey as a skater. And Origin - the name says it all. I remember him also stating the program is a tribute to the child version of himself, reaching back to the pure roots of his love of skating. And in this sense SLB cleverly integrated the concept of Japanese folklore about the birth of a Japanese god - which I take her to mean Yuzu himself again. In other words, neither choreographer developed the programs with Johhny or Plushenko in their mind, and in my opinion neither really did Yuzu much outside of the music chosen and colours of the costume. If he really is recycling Origin, then as people has pointed out, the pacing of the program should be changed. Currently I think the prelude at the start is too long, which can wear out some people's patience, and because it is too long, it causes the rest of the music cut to be too jam packed and fast. He needs to cut down the prelude a bit and pace out the rest of the program more evenly, leaving just the fast music to the climax only.
  3. Also if you go back to his original layout revealed in the news clipping from media day last year, you will see 4T3A and 3A4T as alternatives....In other words Shoma isn't the only one planning on doing the latter... And remember in one of the interviews, it was mentioned that there exists a version B of the Otonal and Origin costumes. We never got to find out last season if version B is just an exact replica or different designs. If they can change a third of Otonal music last year to make it more COP friendly, they can do it for Origin too. If you go back to the very first revealed version of Seimei, it looks nothing like the later ones.
  4. He looks good in that 24h pink t-shirt! Although in the TV Studio, I couldn't help but want to get a pair of scissors and cut off some of his too long fringe. Checked the date and realized 24h is still a month away
  5. I think I will die of laughter if there is no news or indication at all till ACI and everyone anticipation has been raised to the highest and then BANG he comes out with..... both Origin and Otonal.
  6. Yuzu had been sharing number 1 and 2 in most popularity polls for Japanese athletes with Ichiro for quite a while already, so by popularity, only Ichiro is above him from summer athletes. But Ichiro is even more famous than Yuzu for rejecting things - he even rejected the people honours award. Yuzu has a lot going for him for the torchlighting per media , if not the final one, at least for Sendai, including the two golds, a victim of 311, symbol of overcoming difficulties, popularity and supported by ANA, the sponsor of the torch relay. The only thing against him is being a winter athlete and possibility of him rejecting it. If they must pick an athlete from earthquake affected area, there is also Fukuhara Ai, who is also Sendai born, ANA sponsored, retired and popular enough to appear in commercials and shows a lot. The only thing against her is she just only have silver and bronze medals from her two Olympics, no gold.
  7. Hmmm...Something must be kept a secret all the way till ACI...cant risk a single leak...I wonder what
  8. Japan don't like "4" too because it sounds like 'death'. In that case we should petition for 4CC to add Antarctica to become 5CC so the curse can be lifted and our Yuzu can get his final missing gold with no worries Although Pingu-san might turn out to be the most formidable opponent on ice
  9. "4" is considered unlucky by almost all Asians, not just Japan. I think you may have uncovered the source of why "4CC" is the most cursed competition in figure skating for singles since you know, singles participants are predominantly..Asian , including ones living in North America (I am joking here of course).
  10. I always thought Dono hair is the real test of whether an actor is truly handsome, or whether he had been relying on hairstyle, make up and styling all this time. And in my mind Yuzu passed the test pretty well. I have watched many Japanese period dramas before, and Yuzu is on the better side of pulling that hair style off
  11. Let's just say Yuzu is a better hair stylist himself than 90% of the hair stylists who got their hands on him for many events ( can someone tell me why hair stylist love that patted down side fringe office worker hair they give him so much? Is it because it is considered formal ? But I dont see it much in male celebrities even for formal occasions, so why always on Yuzu. As for superstitions, Yuzu himself might be even more superstitious than us (he admitted is so - for example he refuses to eat triangle shapped onigiri because it reminds him of number three). But at the same time he leaves nothing to chance by doing everything he can. As he said in his recent interview, he did everything he could for the Olympics and the rest is up to fate. And since he did everything, he sees no reason he can't win. As there is always the saying, fate favours the prepared
  12. The Ice owes us the full version of this! No girl skater will dare kiss him now.
  13. He was born to do Axel jumps from the very start!
  14. Your links don't seem to work, but can see them on weibo on the account. Well at least the person who took the photos pixaleted everything except Yuzu and his mum so people can't work out where he is shopping. I like the black cap, earphones and loose sweater he is wearing, but can't believe he ditched his Golden sneakers for black and white ones now. And he looks so young, as usual.
  15. Symptons of a Fanyu...I felt extremely bad for flying JAL to Japan to see FaOI, even though there were ANA direct flights too ( although there is no reason for me to feel bad lol). But that was because my credit card points allowed me to exchange a JAL ticket but not ANA. But can you believe it, I actually seriously considered flying ANA and save my points for something else. In the end I still succumbed to a free ticket though ...So ok, I have made it my mission that I have to at least fly ANA once in the future, since it's the first few sponsor that supported Yuzu even before he won any big international gold medals. And no living in a country where there is no Yuzu product at all is even worse for my wallet.. I end up spending money trying to source them second hand or through proxies when they are much cheaper had I lived in Japan And recently my sister said to me "don't you think there is a bit too much Pooh around the house? There is Pooh pattern bathroom curtains, Pooh shapped coffee stirrer, Pooh shapped jewellery boxes and just random Pooh stuff toys lying around the house, I feel invaded by Poohs ! "
  16. I might be one of the few that likes Final Time Traveller and Believe more than Requiem. Two very underappreciated Yuzu show programs in my opinion.
  17. I am not Russian, but based on google translate of the script of the interview, in response to a question about which were the most cool and memorable programs of last season, she mentioned her favourite ones, which included Yuzu whom shes says there is nothing much to say, he is a different story, you just watch him on screen with popcorn and hit repeat (sounds like the typical sympton we all have). But if any Russians here, please offer more correct translation if the above is not correct.
  18. Except he can't do that anymore now, or someone in the audience is going to get hurt with the following stampede
  19. But the bit she misheard is one of his greatest assets XD maybe that is exactly what she was thinking hence she misheard
  20. Can someone tell me why things turn a bit R rated when it's Yuzu's turn? XD
  21. The commentary 'what is a Pooh doing in a place like this' reminds me of kids leaving their toys around ...And we know who is the likely kid here XD
  22. I think what really did Yuzu in at Worlds was that nasty fall during warm up before the SP and the fact he had to skate first. It was like he was still in shock , hadn't recovered yet and had to be ushered out to skate. I guess hence why the look when he stepped out on the ice. Things may have been different if he didn't go first and had a chance to calm down. But what can you do about the luck of the draw.
  23. I am not sure he should be called 'Quad King or Emperor" even if he becomes the first person to land all 6 quads. The 'quad' title just makes whoever sounds like he is all about quads, when Yuzu is far more than that. And given there are already so many 'quad kings', Yuzu deserve something more original
  24. Your comment is why we are worried if he is lurking here
  25. I don't think it is only Yuzu who lurks around SNS to read about themselves...There are many hints that most skaters do it, especially the young ones, some even pretty much admit it out loud. Hence, in that sense it is not lame at all, since everyone is on the same boat. If I was Yuzu I would look to all relevant forums around the world for programs feedback especially after the reveal of a new program, since judges are multinational too. Which of Nessie or 4F will appear first do you think? He said 4Lz, 4F then 4A in the interview at March, but there is no reason why he must stick to that order, although 4Lz will most likely return first. On the other hand, he may have tricked us to thinking that way XD
