I wonder if that's just because things are up in the air, or if it's because MHJ was planning to waltz off with them

The comments say that they're having a comeback and will be performing at Tokyo Dome 10 days later so they could just be too busy.

Also, they're the 2nd biggest Hybe group right now. Maybe NewJeans feel like they'e outgrown it and don't get enough of a payoff from it? It looks like the last time BTS performed at Weverse Con was in 2021 (obviously, they're not as big as BTS, but they probably also don't have the same level of loyalty and the company doesn't have the same level of dependence)

  2. Oh dear! I'm not sure if the Kth's (Tae Akgaes) have been worse than ever since solo era or if more of them are filtering into my timeline, but apparently they've harassed Master Park (the guy who taught Jin how to make alcohol) so much, that he deleted his post updating us on Jin.

another silly plastic surgery fan war - poor Sohee, the comments on him are downright cruel (apparently Knetizens are wanting him to get more to "fix his face" and saying that he's still ugly after all that). But I was struck by how similar Jin's face is since his teenage years - I thought it changed a lot with maturity but someone did an overlay of his adult and teenage glasses pics and he looks so similar. Amazing how much grooming, makeup, and hairstyle can do! The funny thing is that a Blink was using the same 2 pics to convince people that he got SO much plastic surgery done.

And saw this photo of Bam on facebook. I think this is my favorite angle of Bam - that boopable nose front and center is so dang cute!

  3. just got back from the concert movie. @barbara no luck with the diamond tickets; this event was excluded so no savings to be had

It was $22 USD after fees here, so looks like it's the most expensive for the US once you convert. My friend said that the Taylor Swift concert movie cost the same but hers was 3 hours long, and even then, the Swifties were complaining that they cut 4 songs out.

It was definitely a whole different experience vs. watching at home and I would do it again but I feel like Hybe dropped the ball a bit.

    Spoiler

The positive is that I got to see all 3 of the special performances with Jimin, Joon, and JK and all my favorite songs.

I forget what song it was, but my newbie friend said "whoah!" during one of Suga's really fast rap parts and also commented "he really goes hard" in another part and seemed to enjoy the dramatic presentation when he was carried onto the stage.

The negative is that the editing was really poor. They cut a lot of parts out and the clips were out of order - even my newbie friends noticed that it seemed out of order and were confused by it. It was more like a series of clips rather than a concert. The overall "art" of the show was lost - it reminded me of an action movie.

There were subtitles during the parts where he's talking to the audience (which wasn't much) but I wish there were also subtitles during the songs so newbies could better understand the depth of the music. There wasn't a lot of non-concert commentary either so it felt neither like a documentary/movie nor a concert. As a fan, I was immersed in the individual performances on a different level because of the big screen and surround sound and I did enjoy it a lot, but it was also a bit disappointing.

  4. Damn. A BTS concert finally comes to my theater and only 3 tickets sold tonight. It doesn't look the next one will be coming to my theater :(

I'm taking 2 of my friends to see it tomorrow. Hopefully they have fun and it picks up over the weekend. @barbara, if you have a Marcus theaters, you can buy Diamond discount tickets for $8. I'm not 100% sure they'll work on this but they say that they're good for any movie that's not listed as an "Alt Event" or "VIP Seating"

  5. Anyone know what the low note that Jin sings in Dionysus is?

I'm trying to figure out the guys, especially Jin's, exact range. I read that Jin's is 5 octaves, another place that it's 4 octaves, but most are saying 3, and even in Suchwita, apparently Suga said that Jin "can sing over 2 octaves, 3 octaves". But Suga says it as if it's impressive and unusual, which I found odd because2-3 octaves is pretty standard for a professional singer.  Most of what I read about the vocal line seems to have them all around 3 octaves, except for the occasional person who thinks that Tae has the widest vocal range, but considering that Suga talked with praise about Jin's range and JK says it's Jin, I'm guessing it's Jin.

My best guess is that people who are saying 3 octaves mean in full voice and people who are saying 4-5 octaves mean, including the falsetto (but it also seems like it's normal to include the falsetto in a male range so that doesn't seem right either).

ETA: it seems that Tae's fans are basing his vocal range from the high note in Stigma but I also read that Tae said that he won't sing that high anymore because it will damage his vocal chords

  6.

It seems every account of Jin is about how handsome, kind, and respectful he is.

...and JK, lol. Tries so hard to be sexy and tough and, even in military, he's seen as a kid. All eyes and nose.

When I saw the news about JK working in the kitchen and beeing a cook, I was like "ok, yeah, fine".

And today it hit me like "wait, what?!?". This fit, strong and physical active guy was placed into the kitchen??? Did not expect this at all. I try not to read anything into it, but I don't think anyone would have expected him in such a position.

    Spoiler

I wasn't surprised about the cooking duty. We know that JK enjoys cooking and is also competitive. Since he isn't allowed to rise in ranks or do specialized roles because of his tattoos, it makes sense that he'd want to do something in his interests. And JK has said previously that he's not good at things if he's not interested in the subject.

I read that he's the kitchen lead so, if true, means that he's putting his competitive spirit at work there.

And kitchen work, especially at that volume, is really hard work and requires a lot of strength so they could use someone as fit as him.

Joonie is cuter than ever. Good to see him  looking happy

Personally I think Jimin or Jin would be more Puck-like, but I could see Joonie doing it.

Definitely Jimin. Jin is more dorky sweet but Jimin is a mischievous little devil underneath that adorableness

  9. uh oh... JK's discovered 1 drawback of enlisting together with Jimin... you know he would have gotten "Best Trainee" in any group that didn't include another Tannie

In the comments section, someone wrote that Yoongi is the office head (Team Leader) of the service center at the Military Manpower Administration. I haven't seen any source citing this so no idea if it's true (and even if there's a source, who knows) but judging by how everyone else is doing, I see no reason to not believe it

Lol, Tae is being Tae... apparently he makes people answer quizzes before he'll give an autograph

    https://www.koreaboo.com/news/bts-v-soldier-reveals-test-required-get-autograph-military/

Learned more about the companion soldier program. Saw this same information in a couple sources. The problem with all these fan wars and ship wars is that you often get tidbits of information through the filter of that person's agenda - in no way do I think this is any evidence of TaeKook being real, but now the whole argument about the tattoos contributing to Jimin and JK enlisting together makes sense (though of course just because there is a logic behind it doesn't mean that it's true).

Only the Maknae line was eligible for companion program so this was an argument between JiKookers and TaeKookers. JK said in that last live that he originally wanted to be in special forces but couldn't. We already know that visible tattoos are only allowed at certain bases and for lower positions. And the companion program is only available for less desirable locations. If you're going to get stuck in a less desirable location either way, you may as well be with 2 of your best friends. Totally makes sense

  10.

So I guess 4 of them have female doppelgangers.

    Namjoon's:

I seriously thought this was an edit of Joon but in the comments, they're saying she's in some drama

    Hobi's:

Comments have a couple other suggestions as well.

    ...and of course there's Jiwoo

And we've all heard of JK's
