Much thanks for the clarification :)

This stuff always messes up my head. I wouldn't know what to make out of it had it not been for you or some others who understand the rules to explain it to me :)

You're overestimating me. Too often I can't understand ISU's word salad, too.

Is it the same for Yuzu if he decides to compete?

If Olympics do not count as ISU Championships (and I think they don't), then yes.

Don't worry, this score is super small and just a formality

Each entrant to the six events of the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Series must meet a minimum total score from ISU Events (GP, JGP, Championships, and ISU Challenger Series Events) of the previous season. These scores will be published annually and be decided in consultation with the ISU Technical Committee in each discipline and approved by the ISU Grand Prix Coordination Group.
The minimum total score from ISU Events for this season is 3/5 of highest score per discipline at the ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2021:
    Men 192.53
    Women 139.90
    Pair Skating 136.55
    Ice Dance 132.70

(..) those who need to score the minimum Grand Prix score as listed above can do so in the ISU Challenger Series 2021/22.

Oh, and Yuzuru has 2 gp. 1 for SB and 1 for WS.

Is there any chance of JSF expanding their current Challenger selection? I've just read that they're listing just Italy, Germany, the US and Finland. Sounds crazy to cram all Nationals top 10 there, and I was under the impression they usually give Challengers to all of them?

    Please, they never did it.

Nor top 10 at JNats guarantees you any assignment.

we are still not sure if she’s getting one gp assignment yet right - tho I speculate she can get nhk…

I’m hopeful this is a sign her injury will not bother her this season, surely her “newer” coaches will be on it.

Yes, we are sure. She has 1 obligatory gp for top 24 WS. The question is about 2nd GP. She either will be invited by nhk or skate canada out of mercy (at the end of the day it's invitational competition, many weird things happened🤷‍♀️) or she will use come back rule (bad idea imo, even if it means she would stay with 1 gp only).

But anyway, she doesn't have gp minimum score. So if she wants to go to gp, she must go to challenger.

So JO will be another competition on top of that.

Which means that either she is confident in her condition (then indeed it's better to compete as much as possible).

Or IMG sucks the life out of her.

    Could be both.

[SP] I have changed it a bit for seniors, and since there was a rule change, I have changed spins, steps, too. Since I will skate to a grand tune, I hope I can express my signature flow of jumps, and from there, speeding up to the latter half to build up the excitement.

[FP] Scali chose the song, and when I listened to it, I felt that I wanted to skate to this song, so I decided to skate to it. The piece featured drums, electric guitars, and other instruments that changed the tone of the music significantly. Since the choreography was created with the changes in mind, I want to be able to express them.

Nakano's team has been practicing hard in the off-season as well, but I think it will lead to more success in the future. I have never played in a big game as a senior, so I want to gain that kind of experience this year.

[SP] I haven't done many songs with strong movements or cool images, so I'm making this one in the hope that it will change the image of people watching me.

[FP] It is the complete opposite of SP, a song about lost love. I hope I can create the opposite [to SP] image of the song, with softness and strength.

I used to be in such a hurry even for the slightest mistake, that I gradually pushed myself in the wrong direction, but now, I am enjoying practice calmly. Now, I'm starting from the basics of all jumps. Even if I jump well, the stability is not good, so I need to fix it. I would like to start practicing quadruple soon.

Compared to the senior players, I still have a long way to go. There was a lot I could absorb. Everyone's skating is totally different, and their upper body movements are also totally different from mine. I think everything is something to learn.
[SP] It is a program where I can express the joy of having settled down after all the things, including Corona.

[FP] I will play Princess Leia from Star Wars. I hope to show my strong self.

In addition to her signature triple axel, she is eager to add a quadruple jump to her repertoire: "I don't know if it will be a toe loop or a salchow, but I would like to do it."

I have competitions overseas, so I will take each competition seriously. I will do my best from practice, so that I can compete with confidence,.

[SP] The lyrics are a bit sad. I hope to study my facial expressions more than last year so that I can express the lyrics. I hope to further improve my expressive ability. In Free Skate, she will skate "Moonlight," continuing from last season. She smiled, "I want to improve my level so that people will see that I have changed from last year."

Last season I suffered from an injury on right ankle. I couldn't give a performance that I was satisfied with. This season, I will take care of the injury and do my best to finish every competition with a smile on my face.
