  1. Yeah, I don't think it's a big deal, the first verse of HBD takes like 5 seconds? Maybe coordinating it will take a few seconds longer? Tho I'm not sure Yuzu would particularly want that, especially after still coming down from the adrenaline of skating a program, but I can't read his mind. So I'm pretty neutral about the idea.
  2. This is a beautiful quad toe! More beautiful than the way many men do it! Liza must be one of the most talented jumpers in history in ladies' skating.
  3. Different people feel different levels of comfort about things. We have to respect that. Saying that they "don't want yuzu to enjoy anything" is not only overstepping but just plain toxic.
  4. ok but that wasn't Yuzu, that was Yuzu's head photoshopped onto someone else's body I tell ya
  5. Probably because Yuzu just looks good in near anything. I can't really fathom anything that makes less fashion sense than this. LMAO.
  6. Hm I thought there was a documentary once upon a time showing baby Yuzu, maybe 16 or so?, looking at a list of music suggestions (along with a CD) that someone had sent him, where he put X and O's on his favorite pieces. One of the pieces was Asian Dream Song(?), and he had written that he really especially liked it. Was that something completely different that I'm misremembering? I mean, I don't think it's a big stretch to say maybe he does take other people's suggestions, including fans/posts he finds on the internet, as inspiration when selecting music. Maybe he does, maybe he doesn't. There's no need to say there is no way he doesn't which is equally as much projection and requires an equal amount of peeking into his galaxy brain to know.
  7. I think gaming for hours at a time and recording it isn't abnormal, and I'm glad Shoma has a hobby other than skating (sometimes it seems like he doesn't). That being said I think we should refrain from speculating about the small amount of information we could glean from the video when we don't even know for sure if it is him. Especially since Shoma is known to be such a hard worker, and there are many other clearer reasons why he hasn't been skating well (for example, injuries and not having a coach). The last thing athletes need to be told when they're down is that they're not spending enough of their mental energy on the thing causing them to be down
  8. Just gonna necro this thread with an article that isn't about skating but seems relevant. https://abcnews.go.com/GMA/Wellness/running-star-mary-cain-pressured-thinner-thinner-nike/story?id=66820849&cid=social_twitter_abcn https://www.nytimes.com/2019/11/07/opinion/nike-running-mary-cain.html (behind paywall) This op-ed mentions Gracie too as having gone through something similar: This athlete, a running star, mentions that her lack of nutrition was what caused her bones to be more prone to injury. In skating while we often talk about the jumps themselves taking a physical toll on skaters, I wouldn't be surprised that many of the injuries are a combination of yes, extreme sport, but also brittle bones due to having to keep such a low weight. Reminds me of a young skater who retired early who seemed to always be healing one injury after another, some of which were not even injuries she got from skating but just doing day to day things...
  9. honestly, this is dumb. TCC is a family club for dozens of sports. it is literally family club that anyone can join where people go to socialize, exercise, conduct business deals, etc. etc. they have a lax guest policy that states any member can bring in any one every 14 days. they are not going to change it for a handful of skaters (albeit their most famous members and perhaps members that create mystique/draw for the club and generate income for them). the skaters aren't the main source of business, and they aren't going to create a maximum security training complex just for them like some sort of skating ivory tower. THAT BEING SAID, yes this fan's behavior was dangerous because it could inspire other people, potentially dangerous stalkers, to do the same. BUT the people retweeting and making a big deal of this are spreading her words more than anything. She literally privated her account and/or deleted those posts. So why SCREENSHOT them to make it easier for other people to read and do the same??
  10. yeah there are so many possible reasons...sometimes you land a jump out of luck a few times...also you might lose jumps by learning another jump that has a slightly different timing so it messes with your timing on the first one. like i think the majority of skaters have trouble with one of flip or lutz just because they're so similar yet so different, it's so hard to develop strong muscle memory for both at the same time.
  11. He did say to keep sharing his work. The ISU can't take it all down
  12. Hm, personally I'd be uncomfortable with a PH project that can't represent everyone who wants to be represented its just unfair to the people who are excluded. But anyone can print their own personal banners of course
  13. Yeah I think flags of any sort, no matter the size, are problematic
  14. Unfortunately, there are issues with using flags of any kind with this project. Your design looks beautiful, though.
  15. LOOOOOOOOOOOOOL. It's probably a mistake but LOOL
  16. This is kind of a lowres photo of him though, anyone got a higher res one? TT I can send them to print for GPF if you guys like them.
