  1. Patrick needs to skate both events. It's his best chance to be an OGM. It's funny that even if Patrick skates both events, he's technically the weakest link. Ladies: they have 2nd and 3rd at Worlds. Gabby and Katelyn aren't the most consistent, but Gabby doesn't "bomb" the FS the way Katelyn does, so if Katelyn skates the SP (which she's great at), I think they'll be fine and likely place 2nd behind the Russian lady. Men: Patrick, who is around #3-#5 in the world, and might place higher because Japan might not make the free skate, Javi isn't in the team event, and he will only have to skate against Yuzu or Shoma in each segment anyway. Pairs: They have a 2x World Champion this quad, but Eric is injured...still, they're not in terrible form and I'm hoping he feels better enough to compete :( Dance: No intro needed
  2. I think Canada can will win, with team Russia in 2nd, and the US will be bronze again.... Good chance for Patrick to finally get his OGM and call himself an Olympic gold medalist
  3. :( I wish Gracie would skate for herself. **** USFSA for putting all that pressure on her and not letting her develop at her own pace. I agree, Michigan winter is no joke. I can't imagine leaving cozy California for the Detroit area...
  4. You can. What is off limits is Yuzuru Hanyu himself, you know, the person. He's married to his jumps in happy polyamory. You can indeed marry bit of that SP! If I marry all parts of him do the parts make the whole?
  5. Um, Gracie looks even more chubby now than during the season :omg: yeah.... still gorgeous, though, but..... :silent:
  6. Yeah sorry, I meant imagine if Radio makes the team. But the team gold is a good point. I'd rather be Yulia than Liza.
  7. Yeah, you are right. I'm sure coaches try to teach good technique first and if all else fails, then they give up/relax on technique a little so the skater gets progress.
  8. Would you rather be World Champion or be on an Olympic team? i.e. be Radio (and make the team but never win Worlds) or be Elizaveta. idk. She's lucky she peaked for one season and didn't face much competition that year.
  9. Yes we're allowed spoilers! Is it possible to have a crossed out text feature? I use it a lot lol yeah it already exists as 'strike'
  10. If you have any comments/feedback/suggestions for the moderation team itself (i.e. too much/too little censorship, need more mods, etc.) please post here ^^
  11. True, the coaches shoulder some responsibility. Looking at Mao and Kanako who were such strong natural jumpers I think about what might have been I think the coaches shoulder almost ALL the responsibility. you don't really get to choose what your technique is like when you're 10? 15? learning a triple or a quad. you don't even get to choose your coaches most of the time. bad coaches are ruining their skaters' futures. i see 8, 9 year old girls jumping doubles that barely get off the ground with HUGE mule kicks at my local rink and i just cringe thinking about it. what if those girls want to go on to be internationally competitive one day.
  12. I don't share this belief at all, this last Shoma interview actually assures me more than ever of that. It isn't even that they ignore his URs and that only rarely they give him a ! on his Lz (WTT was the exception but I doubt very much it's a beginning of a trend). It's that flip that should never, never be accepted as a flip. It is so bad that at this point it really is a merger of two or even three jumps, because as someone pointed it out on GS, at which point do we start calling this a creative entry to an Axel? To have this changed, judges must start calling it. It's not going to happen just like that. Yuzuru got his Lip calls and worked on it for example. Unless the system starts punishing them, there is nothing in it for them not to continue as they have been. PCS in general has gone completely bonkers so Marina will simply package Nathan properly and that'll be that. They want it and they don't care how they get it, and why should they? Do you really think anyone but a few skating fanatics will care? I'm talking more of a general improvement as skaters. Shoma won't be remembered for his technical side but he can try to balance both sides of his skating since he is much better in PCS. And even if judges don't call out incorrect technique that doesn't mean he can't improve by his own will, specially since bad technique means also more injuries and if he wants a larger career he needs to adress those problems. Fixing technique is hard though....and leads to injuries while you're doing it (i.e. Satoko). It also leads to a couple seasons of inconsistency while you're between techniques. So I think skaters will only do it if they're forced to (Mao and Yuzuru's wrong edge problems). Sometimes they won't even try. Isn't there a saying that it takes 10k tries to learn a jump and 40k tries to relearn it?
  13. I just hope they don't get injured. Doesn't Rika already have/had a knee injury? Ow. And it doesn't look like 3As are rewarded unless you NEVER underrotate or fall on them, and judges don't shower you with GOEs unless you can do them with steps.
  14. I use imgur but it's not very good since everything I post gets downvoted straight away and there's a limit to how much you can post in a certain amount of time. So yeah, I'd also like to know. What do people use? wait, why?! i don't even sign in with an account who's downvoting yuzu posts?!
  15. Why does Zijun get such low PCS? Is it her lack of speed/poor stamina? Because she lands her jumps but she still looks slow across the ice, but I didn't expect her to get a 102 at Worlds with 7 triples (2 UR'd)...
  16. test! it works :D [instagram]BTlfXfTlDVO[/instagram]
  17. Since Yuzu is winning by a landslide, I'm going to do the sacrilege-y thing and vote for Boyangman. Because, come on, can you blame me!? Edit: Wait, I can't find a poll? :ban: jUST KIDDING
