  1. Honestly I don't know how to feel about him recycling last years programs. I liked both his SP and FS but I feel like the long was more justified in repeating than the SP. Otanal already has that world record score plus many of his naysayers as well as well as some of his fans would rather see him do new programs as we don't know how much longer he'll be skating. I also don't think it will do him any favors when it comes to the judges scrutiny of him. With everyone else seemly having new programs but him. I also understand that with his injuries last season he did not get to skate the programs like he wanted to especially the FS. The only way he can made Otanal better since it's already a world record program is with upgraded tech content. Which worries me. Over all I'm a bit disappointed I was hoping for at least one new program.
  2. I'm worried about Hanyu's stamina for the free skate.
  3. This makes me extremely nervous and I suspect that the injury is not completely healed and the sad thing is he needs that team event short program. He needs it in order to get himself momentum because right now he has zero momentum. He'll be going into the Olympics was a 0 momentum which will make it very nearly impossible to squeak out a win let alone get on the podium. I strongly feel like he needed this team event hopefully he'll prove me wrong.
  4. I have a question How likely do you think it is that Hanyu will win the Olympics or even be considered a favorite for gold now. I mean with his injury and being off the ice for months it's not looking good I'm not expecting him to podium to be truthfully honest. And I'm saying this as his biggest fan.
  5. First Chan and then Javier now Hanyu golly what the heck is this season! All three out of the GPF! Who would have thought? NHK won't be the same without Hanyu. I guess this is a golden opportunity for the U.S. men.
  6. Apparently Hanyu has withdrawn from NHK
  7. Worried Hanyu will withdrawal like kohei Uchimura did at 2017 World gymnastics Championships. Praying that he's Ok! Figure Skating is bad for my health. I'm pulling another all nighter to watch NHK.
  8. Gabriella Papadakis' FD dress is way too plain. The cut of the dress isn't flattering on her.
  9. I think that doing Chopin for a third time is beginning to look like a mistake. Especially given how he skated it this morning he's not doing himself any favors. As a Hanyu fan I was not impressed and it didn't look like the judges were either. If you're going to do a program for a third season you better sell the heck out of it. You have to skate it clean otherwise you're not justifying why you're using it. I know many will say Hanyu always had a slow start at the beginning the season. I'm well aware of his track record however he can't afford to make errors like that anymore when he's gotten Nathan Chen and Shoma Uno and many others nipping at his heels now he does not have a fall/mistake cushion anymore that doesn't exist.
  10. Hanyu does seem to value the Grand Prix final. I think if he were to lose to Grand Prix final this year let's say to Nathan Chen or Shoma Uno they'd become the instant gold medal favorite for the Olympics. Still we'll have to wait and see how his Grand Prix goes first and if he remains healthy and uninjured.
  11. Bugs me so much I mean seriously he should at least have one new costume I doubt the judges or fans are going to be impressed. I'm disappointed.
  12. Yup that's exactly what I'm afraid of. Leave it to the Japanese media to make a big thing out of nothing. they will undoubtedly compare Shoma to Hanyu again. Shoma will be heralded as the new savior of Japan by the Japanese media and they'll probably say something about how Hanyu disappoints again or that this is the year he'll be surpassed.
  13. I hate it people compare the two. People keep forgetting that Hanyu turned senior at a very young age(15). He had to work up the ranks the old fashioned way. It took him years to earn his PCS and TED scores as opposed to now where skaters like Uno ,Boyang ,and Chen earn those kind of PCS and TED scores their first year. Don't forget all of the skaters above turned senior much later than Hanyu. I'm not blaming the skaters it's the judges that are the problem.
  14. Seeing the scores at Lombardia Trophy what were the judges on? Seems like the judges really want someone to break Hanyu's world record scores. I mean Shoma getting 319 at the beginning of the season! It seems clear to me that they don't want Hanyu to repeat as Olympic gold medalist they want a new Olympic champion. I won't be shocked if Nathan or Shoma win the Olympics. Quite frankly I expected it with the scores the judges have been willing to throw out to anyone like candies.
  15. I took one look at Shoma's Lombardia Trophy SP score and I sighed. The judges are really going to town this season it looks like. The judges were really really generous with Shoma's scores makes you wonder what they'll score everyone else once the GP season starts. It almost feels like Shoma's the judges new anointed one.
