  1. I think there may be some changes, yes. If the shamisen guy isn't in Hachinohe now then probably we won't see Change tomorrow. I'm waiting for the fan reports and then pictures/video snippets
  2. The end of 2015 was a very exciting time and I still remember the euphoria I felt. After NHK I went to work on Monday and the first thing to do was that I showed Chopin and Seimei to my coworkers This was something I didn't really do before that I was planning to go the GPF but my friend had a lot of work and we decided not to go in the end. I regretted it after that (but I can't complain now because I saw Yuzu at so many competitions after that).
  3. I'm surprised too - I heard about Yuka but didn't connect the dots that she is the daughter of Shizuko Orihara. The designs of the costumes are stunning, Etude is still on the top of the list of my favourites.
  4. Happy 7th anniversary to Seimei at NHK Trophy 2015. Yuzu brought men's skating to a stratospheric level with Seimei and with this skate he became the first ever skater who got over 200 points for a free skate (216.07) and over 300 points for the overall score (322.40). And who would have thought then that he would break his own records in just 2 weeks again at the GPF.
  5. form -フォーム in Japanese which sounds like foam? It's really cute, very Yuzu
  6. It's better to sit behind a woman pair skater
  7. The attendance today looked really weak. Friday can't be an excuse because it was already evening so if anyone wanted to go to the competition they made sure they were there. Figure skating in Europe is in serious trouble (elsewhere too but Europe is worse than others). I don't know what's the situation in other countries where the ISU Youtube stream is geoblocked but the GP series is not streamed anymore on the website of our sports channel and Eurosport TV doesn't broadcast it either. Football World Cup can't be an excuse either because it was already the case 3-4 weeks ago too. It is the first time this happens because in previous years it was either on TV and/or it was also streamed live. So the TV ratings and the live stream views were probably so bad that they decided not to stream/broadcast the second half of the GP Series. Ilia's 41+ PCS is of course grossly overscored. If he came from a smaller and less powerful federation and he'd have less quads he'd get around 35 for this skate (and that'd be the score he's deserve for a skate like that).
  8. Zueva's words are so ridiculous that I can only laugh.
  9. The version that Shinya Kiyozuka released is overall a bit slower than the one Yuzu skated to, but this part, starting from around 02:22 is actually faster for a few seconds. This is during the step sequence (it starts at 02:40 in this video). In the program the tempo of the music is even and precise while the one released goes a bit too fast in this part. Every note, every second of rhythm is important in a program so it's understandable there were some changes here and there. I think it is a very nice interpretation and it's great is up on Youtube and on other platforms. Some time ago I showed the short program to my mother who is a pianist and she liked it a lot too. Since it is already released it's most likely the record company that has the copyrights to the arrangement and the recording. Otherwise without releasing it it would be the arranger (Shinya Kiyozuka) who owns the copryright.
  10. I wish all the best to Ghislain on his 60th birthday!
  11. There'll always be people who go to competitions but the demand for tickets has for sure changed. On Friday and today the number of spectators were quite low compared to previous years, yesterday there were more people but it wasn't fully sold out either. When Yuzu competed it was always sold out, of course. Yuzu could go for HanyuYuzuru111
  12. World Cup is beginning in...10 minutes! Are there any football fans here? Here are the groups & teams of World Cup '22: https://www.fifa.com/fifaplus/en/tournaments/mens/worldcup/qatar2022 When I was a kid I always rooted for Brazil, and I also liked Croatia ever since they win the bronze at FIFA '98. I like some other Central/South American teams too. I don't follow football as much as I used to before but I still watch World Cup/Euros or some other bigger tournaments (no club football though). World Cup, here we go!
  13. Alexander Gorshkov, the president of the Russian Figure Skating Federation has died yesterday. If I understood correctly, he suffered a major heart attack two days ago, and died in the hospital. He was the first Olympic champion in ice dance, in 1976 - with his wife Pakhomova who later died at only 39. Gorshkov served as the president of RusFed since 2010. https://fs-gossips.com/alexander-gorshkov-the-president-of-the-russian-figure-skating-federation-passed-away-at-the-age-of-77/
  14. Yes, it was such a great moment in the show. I loved it.
  15. Yuzu has showed everyone how ice shows can be totally different to what we used to see in the past. Prologue’s atmosphere was intimate, and it showed so well that everything came from Yuzu’s heart - it was unique, just like Yuzu is. I loved how there was a review of Yuzu’s amateur career with videos from the past. The introduction with the music to Romeo and Juliet (Nino Rota’s) was so beautiful. There were some parts that were hard to watch, for example CoR 2018 when the injury from 4Lo happened, and that from different angles…or CoC 2014. The snippets from his childhood were cute. It was also interesting to see he included Ryuju and Patrick who beat him but no one else The 6-minute warm-up with the lights on and then Seimei was such a great idea, Seimei was sharp both times. On Saturday the 4S fall was so unfortunate because he landed the jump easily and then suddenly slipped. On Day 1 it was perfection. I loved the live shamisen, the sound of the instrument is beautiful and Change in the new costume looked so good. I hope we’ll see more live music at Yuzu’s shows in the future. Then I loved how RJ1 was showed on the video and then the transition to the live performance when Yuzu appeared on the ice in the same costume - very creative. Maybe there were some adjustments (especially on the pants) but it is crazy that the costume still fits him anyway. I loved LGC too, with zusaaa, Hana Ni Nare, Hello I Love You was surprising to see! And Spartacus from Day 1 was so good. I wish he skated to the full program some time in the future. A Fleeting Dream was ethereal, it’s floating, just like cool down was at practices. It was very interesting to read what Yuzu has said about this program, his dreams, the 4A that fleeted away. Also the words on the ice and the projection mapping when he skated to this music. It’s making me sad in many ways. But after it, he skated to Haru Yo Koi, spring, new hopes, new opportunities will always come. After that, the clock was ticking, it moved forward from 11.11 to 11.12 just like life is moving forward to the future, to new paths. Something that I’m happy about is that Yuzu skated to a music he has always wanted to and that is close to his heart. And the costume was stunning. The projection mapping was also beautiful, a bit too intensive maybe, at least it made it more difficult to see Yuzu when the camera was far away, which happened a few times. The bracelet was a lovely idea in general, it made the show a bit interactive as well. And ahh Yuzu got emotional when he saw that the bracelets turned blue at the end of the show. I hope he felt all the love coming from the audience. It was amazing to see the fully packed arena especially when the bracelets were lightning in different colors. It reminded me of millions of fireflies. I hope Yuzu enjoyed his first two shows as a pro, he did a fantastic job and he can be so proud of himself. He is in very good shape that he was able to skate to so many programs in 2 days and to give attention to every details as the producer of the show. The schedule was really tough because there was less than a day between the two shows. He needs to pace himself really differently compared to competitions but he did really well. He’ll have almost a month to prepare for the upcoming shows, where he'll have at least one day off between Day 2 and Day 3. And if he’d like to make some changes, or has some new ideas he'll have a bit time for that. Congratulations to Yuzu on such successful first shows as a pro and I can’t wait to see him again in December.
  16. The times when there were full arenas at Europeans where tickets were sold quickly are gone so you shouldn't worry about tickets if you'd like to go. I've checked out the tickets out of curiousity and things are not looking good so far...there are plenty of tickets available even on days like Friday evening or Satuday. Unless lot of locals decide to go, there'll be lots of empty seats and sectors this time. The current economic situation in Europe isn't good, there's a major drop in interest in Europe skating since Russians are out and Finland is not a cheap country either so I don't know who'd be willing to travel to Espoo. It's also not helping that an another major competition, GPF will also be in Europe, so if someone needs to make a choice they'd likely to travel to Italy where they can also see Japanese/Korean/NA skaters too, not just Europeans.
  17. Probably on ISU's YouTube if it is not geoblocked in your country, or CBC with Canadian VPN. I haven't checked on Russian's sites like ok.ru but probably they'll just focus on their own GP Series this time...
  18. What a nice surprise for today, thanks to Yuzu! The new video is awesome Change is a fun program , I rewatch it regularly so I was very happy to see that Yuzu skates to it in his new video (and look at the T-shirt and hairstyle!). The Dreamy Aspiration was so beautiful, it's great to see the Biellmann spin back and the Y-spiral in that wonderful costume. The editing from many different angles must have been a lot of work and Yuzu did a really great job with it. He is so kind that he added English subtitles to his video as well. I can't wait for the details about the membership system. This video has really made my day now
  19. The videos are back but there's still some work with it because now they can be played in full screen mode only.
  20. What exciting days! I'm so looking forward to Yuzu's new program(s), the artists he'll collaborate with, his costumes, the whole show, really. The design is already beautiful. Shae was in Japan not so long ago so I think it is a safe guess at least one program will be choreographed by her. The shows will be in the end of the year so I think it was probably difficult to find venues that were still available, a lot of concerts or other programs usually book venues a lot earlier than a few months before. I hope TV Asahi will broadcast all the shows.
  21. It's truly a new era with Youtube, Twitter and Instagram accounts. He had to add "official" otherwise it'd be confusing with so many fan accounts, especially on twitter. I'm also laughing that he posted the tweet at 1:11 AM, it's so Yuzu It was also lovely to see all the photos from the China-Japan event today - Yuzu's speech was smart, it was about positivity and he focused on peace and connections of the two nations. He is so loved and respected in both countries, so I think it was great that he was there.
  22. It's great that we have some pictures and short videos of the event. Yuzu looks great, very elegant in his suit. I hope there'll be some translations what he said in his speech.
